About The Smokey Cow

Formerly the Seven Stars, this village pub in Beckbury on the Shropshire and Staffordshire border has been given a complete renovation by new owners The Craft & Jam group. Now known as The Smokey Cow, it boasts a light and spacious restaurant with a social bar as the centrepiece and a log burner to cosy around in winter. Expect classic homemade meals, authentic smoked pit BBQ and pies ranging from beef to full of greens to gluten-free; all served with traditional sides (with some funky twists) and good ale in a rustic rural location. Live music on Fridays too.

I visited the Smokey Cow with a party of bellringers from Halesowen. We created a walk that took in four churches. The walk itself was 11 miles long, and took us 3 hours. So our time for lunch was very constrained. There were 23 of us for lunch, and we only had an hour. I was able to send the order in a few days before, and I was grateful for Louise's help. The food was excellent, at a reasonable price, and the service was efficient, exactly as we required. A very happy lunch and I would recommend it to anyone in the area.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch for a party of 9. We picked the Smokey cow as it was half way between the 3 groups meeting up. And we were all very pleased with the results. Good food,large quantities and excellent staff. 1st of many more visits.

Hold on hold on!! I hit submit before I’d finished so please read in conjunction with my other review…. What I missed off…. This isn’t your usual chain pub sort of place.. It far exceeds that and the place is my absolute firm favourite! Anyone that knows me well knows they never have an issue in getting me here. I just wanted the Gaffer to know the new supplier of certain food items has been noted.

Enjoyed a delicious family meal in this lovely pub. Food was excellent with very generous portions The bar man was very welcoming and attentive. The toddler in our party loved the play park

Booking was easy and as we pre ordered this made the service smooth. The staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome. Food was lovely and tasty and fresh. Added touch having a singer and as we came for my husbands 40th the singer started the happy birthday which involved the whole pub. Which was nice for us. Will definitely be back again

We had a great time as a party of 10. We all enjoyed our meals and it wasn’t too busy. The only slight disappointment is we were told it would be 30 minutes for deserts after we placed the order. So we had to cancel due to having kids and a baby with us and it was getting late.
