About The Swan At Ironbridge

Overlooking the picturesque River Severn, The Swan at Ironbridge blends the best of British and American cuisine. They take great pride in smoking all their dishes in-house over real oak wood, optimising the flavours. There’s a wide selection of pork, chicken and brisket to tuck into, as well as plenty of gluten-free and vegan options and the food is complemented by a great choice of craft beers and spirits. The historic building has recently been refurbished in a modern and contemporary style and is open for lunch and dinner daily. There are also ensuite rooms if you fancy an overnight stay in Ironbridge.

I'm sorry to say it was not good... The service was slow. The staff were not attentive. I wasn't asked how my meal was, I wasn't asked if I would like dessert once I had finished my main. The drinks order was especially slow. Slow to come to our table and ask, slow to then bring the drink. Infact I had to remind the staff that I ordered a drink. The food was ok. For the location and price I won't moan too much. I would just say; It could be made with more love. I had the hot dog and upgraded fries. It came out very fast and was just rushed to be out together. We wouldn't return. Location is great, prices are decent. But the staff let it down. Overall I'd say attention to detail and care are needed from the staff. If you can correct that, it would go along way in repeat custom - Without that, it's just another place to grab a pint

Very disappointed with the service and food received during our meal yesterday evening. Service was very slow and food arrived before our drinks had. I had the chicken and rib dish. The ribs were inedible. Gristle in most bites I took. It stated on the menu that the ribs and chicken were BBQ 'glazed' it appeared that the chef had just poured a huge amount of BBQ sauce over them before sending out of the kitchen. The ribs and chicken were practically swimming in BBQ sauce. It was very overpowering in taste. Such a shame as it's a lovely cosy venue.

As always the staff are very friendly and the food was really lovely. We have been before and will be coming again. Great food and lovely place.

We had received as a gift an Afternoon Tea experience at the Swan Taphouse at Ironbridge. We have had many afternoon teas at different establishments and seriously, the one at the Swan Taphouse was probably the best. Instead of the usual finger sandwiches and pate on cold toast, there was this beautifully prepared selection of cooked and spiced meats in small bread rolls (baps) and portions of spiced chicken and barbecue seasoned pork ribs. All of this was served on a board so we could easily share the food onto individual plates. This was followed by a selection of tasty pastries which included a fresh warm scone served with clotted cream and strawberry jam. Endless tea and coffee was also included along with optional Prosecco. The service was a little slow but that was down to just one member of staff at front of house who was really busy, I am sure there will be more staff at busier times. If you want an afternoon tea in a location full of charm and history, we recommend this establishment.

Everything was 10/10. The location, the service, the food - just perfect. The person that served us was so friendly, welcoming and attentive. His level of service was so good we likened it to the impeccable service we’d had from staff at Disneyworld in Florida! It was my husbands birthday which the staff didn’t know about but they made it feel like a special lunch. We’ll definitely be back soon

Was really disappointed in the bottomless brunch. The staff were lovely and very attentive but the choice of food for the brunch was extremely poor and only one option each. One of our guests was vegetarian and only offered nachos. One guest had chicken salad which was chicken strips and a garnish. Only other otion was small breakfast or waffles with chicken which was too heavy whilst drinking cocktails. The advertisement said unlimited processco and cocktails but we were only given the cocktails which were all very sweet and sickly. I would visit the pub for a glass of wine but none of our party would choose bottomless brunch there again. Just to say again though that the staff were lovely

Visited the Swan yesterday for first time. We order afternoon tea with prosecco and ale. We were running late for our booking and phoned en route to explain and hopefully keep our booking. No problem at all. A very pleasant member of staff assured us it would be no problem and same lady greeted us on arrival. Very pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. The food was not the traditional afternoon tea we were used to but a selection of smokehouse meats which were very flavoursome and well presented. This was followed by scones, cream, ice cream and mini choc brownie. Unlimited tea and filter coffee. All very enjoyable and good value for money. Venue interesting, staff very pleasant and room on car park. Nice situation across the road from riverbank. Thoroughly recommend.
