The Townhouse Smokehouse in Durham is a new restaurant housed in an eighteenth century townhouse right in the heart of the city. The elegant hotel has 10 individually designed boutique rooms – three with private hot tubs – and the restaurant which is open for breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner and Sunday lunch. Expect American-style smokehouse food served in elegant surroundings with five terrace tables too for al fresco dining.

Lovely food all i can say is they add service charge and tax onto the bill which makes it quite expensive

I visited the Townhouse smokehouse last weekend with my friend for our monthly catch up. We certainly where not disappointed, the food was amazing, the staff where all really friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself is perfectly laid out giving just the right amount of room between tables, the decor is beautiful and very in keeping with the rest of the hotel. But what can I say about there cocktails they are delicious and definitely pack a punch, I was so pleased to see cocktails back on the menu having previously stayed at the hotel and really enjoying the cocktail menu. It was definitely a hit for us, so we will definitely be back again. I personally can't wait to come back and spend the night in the hotel also.

The setting off the restaurant is amazing, it’s so quirky totally original from the second we arrived the staff were fab and the food was amazing… fantastic choice of meals to suit everyone and worth every penny top quality food

I had the best night ever. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly and so helpful and the place is beautiful. I would highly recommend ppl try it and I will most definitely be coming back
