About The Traders Arms

You will find The Traders Arms in a lovely rural location on the hill in Mellor, between Blackburn and Preston. The old stone building has had a modern refurb and a new management team took over this Thwaites pub in April 2022. Home-made pub grub is served every day at lunch and dinner with main courses such as Fish & Chips, Gourmet Burger, Gammon Steak and Chicken & Black Pudding Melt. There is also a Pizza Menu with nine different pizzas to choose from as well as garlic breads.  The Traders Arms has outside seating front and back, a quiz night every Wednesday and regular live entertainment too.

A bit underwhelming if I'm honest. The customer service was great. The young man who served us was friendly & polite. Me & my partner ordered sausage & mash. The sausages were delicious but the mash was more a child's portion. The peas tasted like they were out of a can and not enough gravy. We were not impressed!!

I meet up with friends for lunch at The Traders every couple of months or so. There's always a good, relaxed atmosphere, staff are friendly & helpful and the food is really good & freshly prepared.

I cannot fault anything, been a few times lately, staff are awesome and the food OMG its perfect, I had the greek dish and the steak frites twice. Steak cooked to perfection and the chicken on the greek dish was amazing, I have never had chicken that good before. Honestly it is well worth a visit you will not be disappointed.

Can’t recommend The Traders Arms enough. If I could give more than 5 I would. The food is all freshly cooked and the menu has something for everyone. From traditional dishes to specials for the more adventurous. I’m working my way through the menu! Each and every member of staff deserve recognition. We are always greeted with a warm and friendly welcome and Amy special requests are granted without question, Even on the busiest of Sunday lunch times. A real home from home feel.
