I was the first person to stay at The Wheatsheaf since the new owners took over a year ago. Since much of the refurbishment was still ongoing I can't give them a perfect score, but it was still a great stay.
I received a very warm welcome from the landlord who apologised for the building work, but the room was comfortable and warm. I couldn't find fault with the food or the price.
When the refurbishment is complete this is going to be a great place to stay.
We had a lovely lunch there today. Delicious hand cooked chips, delicious fresh sandwiches. The Head Chef popped out to speak to us and check on us, he was very enthusiastic and welcoming. Would highly recommend.
