Amazingly good food This is the 6/7th time I have eaten here and it’s always consistently very good Favourite would be the Crab Aracini also the cod mussels with a curried veloute Lovely staff and atmosphere

Beautiful old pub. Had dinner on Friday. Prawns, chorizo, garlic, chilli for starter, cod, mussels in a light curry sauce for main. Food was delicious and service was spot on. Our only criticism, there was no break between starter and main, the plates were taken away for the starter and the main arrived straight away.

Having read previous reviews we were looking forward to our meal .. The pub is very atmospheric and a genuine oldy world atmosphere and appearance .. Staff were very friendly and polite .. The menu was very limited choice wise ..My wife chose the TWH Burger which she said was acceptable , she requested the Side order of Parmesan and truffle fries with her meal instead of just plain fries . When the meal arrived the bowl was full of basic fries with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese , not what was expected and a touch disappointing . I chose the homemade pie which was Lamb , it wasn't the biggest pie but was tasty and had plenty of well cooked meat but the described Seasonal vegetables consisted only of a pile of Cabbage with overcooked fries .. Overall was dissapointed with the meal which we believed was over priced for what we received .

This is a great little pub with wonderful pub atmosphere. We love coming to eat here or just a drink. The staff are friendly and professional and the food is great!

My daughter and I had an excellent meal here last week. I had fish and chips while she ordered the catch of the day which was plaice. She claims it was the best meal she's ever eaten! Lovely old pub and great service.

Really good food. The fish and chips was declared the best for a long time - batter was light and crispy and the fish was perfectly cooked. The cod with mussels and a light curry sauce was equally delicious. Very dog friendly and a nice ambience too.

We visited with trepidation knowing that this place was refurbished and under new ownership but we were so pleasantly surprised ! The refurb is tasteful and retains all of the historical charm. The staff are professional and friendly and the food is delicious.
