About The Worlds End

The Worlds End at Knaresborough emerged from lockdown as a pub transformed. Making the most of its location overlooking the River Nidd, a new south-facing terraced area now stretches down to the water’s edge and the interior has been extended and opened out with stone flooring, large beams and bi-fold doors. In a nice touch they have even added the original bar overhang from The Worlds End pub that featured in the Simon Pegg and Nick Frost movie. Food is served seven days a week at lunch and dinner.

Atmosphere: Plenty of tables, busy but because of pleasant weather, got a table fairly quickly. Service: Very friendly staff, food came in a decent time Food: •Caeser Salad. Very large and had lots of dressing, very nice •Greek Salad. Again,very large, super tasty. •Margarita Pizza. GORGEOUS! Super stretchy cheese pull • Chips. Just chips,but delicious ones!! Was it worth the money? •Yes

Last minute booking on first day of holiday proved to be a great choice Food was great, especially the pizzas Also a lovely gluten free IPA ale Topped off by some wonderful pork scratchings

Friendly, efficient service. Great Yorkshire pudding, although not enough sausages. Beef & Ale pie filling was excellent and the best chips we’ve had in a long time. Great location in Knaresborough overlooking the river. Great value for money. Would recommend a meal here.

I booked a reservation in advance however when we arrived there was no table reserved for us which was annoying as we had two young children. When we eventually found somewhere to sit the food was delicious I ordered the steak and ale pie , we were charged for adult meal for a child and charged for a pint of beer when we had a half. The manger sorted this out no problem. It was a busy day tables wasn’t clean and the bathroom were dirty with overflowing bins. Hope our next visit will be better.

We visited as a family of six and booked a table online. The food arrived quickly and was delicious, with a wide variety of options on the menu. The staff were friendly and helpful , and we all enjoyed our visit. We will definitely return again soon.

We booked for an evening meal for 3 adults while having a few days holiday in the area. We had different meals but all were very good , the steak & ale pie had a lovely flaky pastry top and a nice accompaniment of veg & potatoes. Scampi & chips was very tasty and the burger & chips was perfect. If we return to the area we will be sure to eat here again. The staff were very welcoming. We would recommended this to all.

I booked a table for 4 people on a very sunny, busy day but the service was still excellent. The Manager was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food was truly outstanding, the steak pies were full of good quality steak and the mash was divine. The Hunters chicken was the best my husband has ever had. The ploughman’s was huge and very tasty. All the staff were efficient, friendly and polite apart from one man who served behind the bar. Sadly I didn’t get his name, he was maybe having a bad day but he was actually rude to many customers. Overall highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

Food was average, wrong potatoes used for chips (probably the cheapest potatoes) and came out mahogany colour, fish very oily. Bar staff did not asked who was next so served people who came after us before us, it's nice to feel invisible. Won't return
