I just love Bedders fish and chips. I live inLos Angeles california USA, and I can tell you there is nothing like Bedders over here. I really miss my British Fish and chips.

What a shock sitting here in South Africa for a number of years but when i come home Bedders is my first place to visit, now i here the family sold up. I as a little girl would hand over my shopping list and the money and for my wait 2 chips would be wrapped for me to eat, I remember the daffodils from Bill to his wife. My mom Peggy worked sometimes in the kitchen, My brother John visited for his pie and chips,Pat Johnny what happened? Jackie

My family has been using Bedders for well over 30 years, even though it changed ownership, the food is simply excellent. I doubt you will find better fish and chips anywhere!

Bedders is probably the best Fish and Chip in the UK period. But there are problems! Their portions are way too small, the price is far too high for the quantity they give to you and their opening hours are totally abnormal compared to other fast food outlets. Ali Fish Bar and Mirpur Kebab House are not as good but they are cheap, their portions are very generous and there opening hours are from 11am to 2am 7 days a week. So if you are hungry and only have £1 and it is around lunch time then I would advise you to go Ali's or Mirpur Kebab House as you will get a hell of a lot more chips and your fish will be a full sized one as opposed to a half of a half which one usually gets from Bedders so take your pick!

Bedders is famous throughout the world and has been my first choice for 40 years. My daughter was making a television film in New York. An American on the crew asked her where she was from. When she said Birmingham he asked her whether she knew Bedders. Naturally her reply was "of course, who doesn't" !!

This is a fantastic chippie that seems to get better and better everytime I visit it. The simple menu offers exactly what you want from a good old fashioned fish and chip shop, either to take away or to eat in the restaurant and the new owners, the very friendly Carrelli family have definitely had the Bedders family trade secrets passed down to them and (dare I say it) made the fish chips even more yummy! Make sure you make a visit soon!

I was lucky enough to come across this chippie when I was last in Birmingham and I will definitely be going there on my next visit. I chatted to the owner who said he had just bought the shop and I think he is doing a fantastic job with it. Keep it up and see you next time. p.s I love the furniture. Keeping it real!!

I've been a customer of Bedders for as long as I can remember, and seen three generations of bedders in that time. The fish and chips has always been exceptional, literally the best by far in the midlands, and customers would travel for miles to wait in the always long (but fast moving) queue. However, I visited recently and for the first time, hardly any queue, and the food didn't quite taste the same. Also, none of the Bedders family in view, - have they sold up?
