It is a true shame that this lovely little place is getting so many rave reviews ha-ha because now i have to book to be sure of a table for the early bird menu. Fantastic food and a fantastic team.

I recently when to Uno Momento with friends and prior to going was thinking along the lines of "small Italian restaurant, Stokesley, this will be pricey" but was more than surprised at just how reasonable their prices were. I had a beautiful truly homemade lasagne with garlic bread for £6.95 - it was so tasty and authentic, I could have eaten it all over again except I was full - yes the portion sizes are generous. We couldn't manage a pudding but had a small glass of Lemoncello Liqueur only because we had heard of it and never tasted it - that again was magical. The whole bill for 4 was very reasonable. There were lots of "eaters" on the 5-7pm slot and they welcomed children and young babies in highchairs and despite the lack of dining space, everyone was welcome. By 9pm they are winding down to a full closure by about 9,30pm but never chase their customers even though they are clearly buzzing around tidying up, The staff are professional with typical Italian jovial spirit but never over familiar in their approach which was nice. It was a memorable experience which I hope to repeat again soon.

The secret is now out of the bag. This little very understated restaurant is a thriving hub situated on the High Street in Stokesley. Formerly it was a failing pub and up till recently thought of has just a coffee shop. However the word is getting about. This is not only an Italian restaurant but is actually owned and run by true Italians. That alone can provide you with a true indication as to the quality of service and food. Its not fancy food but it is traditional, wholesome regular dishes. Not your generic ones you see on chain menus but home Italian cooking. Delicious Bruschetta, Pastas and may I recommend to you the juicy steaks on offer. Lets not forget the small but refined wine list and of course coffee and puddings to die for. Whether you visit for a special occasion or a regular meal out you will be met with a warm welcome.
