About Vesuvius Restaurant

Savour the ambience of an authentic, family run trattoria-style Italian at Vesuvius on Maidstone’s Lower Stone Street. The name comes from the volcano that towers over the family’s home city of Naples and for Neapolitans bringing family and friends together at the dinner table is one of the most important traditions. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Sunday and many of the recipes are family favourites that ‘Mamma Maria’ used to make. There’s a wide selection of food, beers and wines on offer with fresh fish and seafood delivered daily and lots of pizza and pasta options as well as meat and vegetarian dishes. A great-value lunch menu is available too in addition to the main a la carte in the evenings and kids portions for selected dishes. Always a great atmosphere here - especially when Napoli win!

The heating wasn't working so it was cold in the restaurant, it took 90 mins to get our starters. When we finally got our main dishes the fish wasn't cooked in the middle and clearly was frozen not having been defrosted properly. My partner had pasta with clams which gave her food poisoning and was really ill for two days. Really disappointing experience.
