We were tired of the usual takeaway food and after hearing good things about the Viet Thai ordered a takeout for collection. The food was exceptional and with the takeout discount great value for restaurant quality food. I am looking forward to going to the restaurant for a meal and eating in. Highly recommended.
Wilcock's
We are regulars at this excellent restaurant, and we love it, the place is simple with only 5-6 tables but the food is amazing, fresh tasty yummy! and the owner Hong is the most friendly person you could hope to meet. Take your own alcohol and enjoy
Bryony
A hidden gem in West Leeds. The food is fresh and the staff's enthusiasm for Vietnamese food is infectious. Extremely good value for money and with the option to take your own alcohol a meal out won't cost more than £20 a head. The pork cooked in five spices is absolutely divine and the vegetable side dishes are delicious - try the aubergine. Highly recommended!
Bettys_salon
Very small, cold and doesn't have toilets, food ok, atmosphere nil, too pricey
Biggeoff
A new addition to the scene. With less than 20 covers, this Viet/Thai (the name of the place says it all) restaurant is situated on the ground floor of a end terrace on the main drag in Stanningley.
A small menu runs the usual gamut of Thai with a few additions that I didn't recognise, so they were presumably the Vietnamese part of the offering.
We had battered deep fried prawns with a peanut dip (OK), prawn Tom Yum (OK but could have been 'cleaner' and hotter) followed by duck in a 'fruit sauce' (well cooked duck breast in a plum (?) sauce - basic yet tasty) served with intriguingly spiced Vietnamese rice and fruit sauce again, this time with a good sized portion of ribs and plain rice.
Nothing fancy, just good simple food at sensible prices.
Oh, but the wonderfully hospitable co-owner/front-of-house lady from Saigon really needs to tighten up her act; she struggled with half a dozen people in the place, I cannot imagine what it might be like if full!
