About Vine Inn

Hidden away down a small lane and surrounded by woods and a river you will find the delightful Vine Inn. This character-filled pub sits in the heart of the Client Hills, a popular walking area near Stourbridge and closer than you might expect to Birmingham. With its low ceilings, open fires, brasses, clocks and extensive gardens, it’s got everything you might look for a in a classic old country pub. The bar area offers a wide selection of ales, local ciders and wines and the smart restaurant area with its linen-clothed tables offers a menu that combines pub classics with their trademark fresh fish and game dishes from the Specials Board. The Vine Inn is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. Dogs are welcome but only in the lounge area. Booking is essential for inside and highly recommended outside.

We've never visited this area before but we blown away by the friendly welcome we received from the staff and the clientele. The dog received personal, hand delivered free turkey pieces and a sausage by the chef. So he was well happy. The menu specialises in game, which made an interesting change and both meals were delicious. A little expensive but I think this is warranted by the quality of the dishes, that aren't just production line fodder. The pub maybe a little dated in the decor but I think that adds to the charm of a 'real pub' and has a warm, homely atmosphere. We loved it and would gladly return to this beautiful area and historical pub.

Great little pub. Like being on holiday for us but only half an hour from home. Food was excellent. Venison was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. starters were lovely and all round service was great.

Loved pub in lovely location let down by extremely slow service and failure to follow cooking instructions for venison steak. A rare steak was requested but a medium/well done was delivered. It was tasty but dry. Member of staff was patronising when paying the bill. August 2026
