About Wagon and Horses

The Wagon and Horses is an imposing three-storey pub with rooms that sits on the banks of the River Lune on St George's Quay in Lancaster. It has a modern and contemporary feel that nicely complements the lines of the Victorian building. Food is served at breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week and there are special deals running through the week, including their popular Sunday Roast. The Wagon and Horses also has six rooms available on a bed & breakfast basis with one on the ground floor with full disabled access. All come with comfortable beds, crisp linen and freshly laundered fluffy towels. The Wagon & Horses is family and dog friendly and large groups and celebrations are welcome. The bar is large and has an excellent array of Robinsons hand pulls, kegged products and a great selection of wines and spirits.

Fantastic food and great service Family of four out to celebrate Mothers Day. We all tried something different and every dish was delicious. The dessert were really tasty too. The portion size could have been a bit better, especially the chips, but still very enjoyable. We will be booking again soon.

Went for a Sunday roast dinner, and we both had fish cake starters, they were lovely, tasty and a good size. The main event was Roast beef served with carrot, parsnips, broccoli, red cabbage, roast and mashed potatoes with a fresh Yorkshire pudding on top. The meat was a generous portion and tasted great. Highly recommended.

We popped in for a Sunday Roast just before Christmas and had a great time. Surprisingly it was not busy and we got first class service and a great meal. The location is great because the pub is light and airy and looks over the river.

Excellent food, probably the best in Lancaster! Tried near enough all the menu, faultless, absolutely beautiful food. The crab and prawn ravioli is fantastic, and tiramisu for a dessert is a must. Good choice of drinks too, and top staff. 5 stars.
