Lovely place but the service is terrible. Three tries at this venue now and all failed miserably on service.
My wife and I had carvery there last night 26 11 2012. We had not been there for over 5 years and I have to say we were both very supprised at how good the food was. Service very attentive and friendly, and atmosphere far better than last time we went there . We only live 1 mile away so keep it to that standard ,we will be a regular visitor.
Not at all happy with either service or food, followed signs to restaurant which says wait at reception to be seated 10 minutes later was told just sit down anywhere. £10.99 all day every day except the day we went. The starter was good no side plates four people sharing 1 plate in the middle of the table and no staff around to ask for any. Main meals was not good food burnt mash was cheap smash award winning sausage dry and burnt. well cooked steak was pink. kids didn't even eat half and they eat anything. Plates never cleared from table at any point and never once asked how the food was or if we wanted anything. They don’t stock any wine either house white or rose. Also very expensive don’t think I would go back.
starter was lovely, although we weren't given extra plates and wasn't asked if it was enjoyed. The "mash" was really dry and the giant Yorkshire pudding tasted and felt like it had been in the oven all day - very burnt and rubbery towards the middle. Again, we weren't asked if we were satisfied with our meals and staff seemed to be rushing around hastily without actually doing anything. I won't be going there again for a meal, even if it is a beautiful scene.
Myself, partner, and my 6 year old granddaughter have just had a most unpleasant visit to the Waterside. Having spent a pleasant afternoon with my granddaughter showing her our new house in the area as we are moving nearby at the end of September. We decided to call in for something to eat on our way home.
First it took the young guy behind the bar 10 minutes to take my order, he didn't seem to know what he was doing properly on the till. I ordered 2 carveries & deserts for myself & my partner. I also order a children's meal for my granddaughter.
We had ate our meals, and my granddaughters meal had still not arrived. I went to ask at the bar, they advised me that my granddaughters meal had been given to someone else & that they were preparing another meal for her.
Eventually they brought the missing meal to her.
Then they brought apple pie & custard out for both of us, when I had asked for hot apple pie with ice cream. When I asked the young guy to change it, he stood there arguing with me that I had asked for custard when I had not.
Then he brought 2 cold apple pies with ice cream instead of hot, not just cold, but still partly frozen inside. I then went to speak to the manager who said he would sort it so we sat down to wait for what we had originally asked for. 20 mins later still no deserts so we left as we had to get back home as my daughter was coming to pick up my granddaughter to take her back home to Prestatyn.
I would not recommend this pub/restaurant to anyone, and will never go there again.
i was not happy with the service at all the man behind the bar was not helpfull at all.Orderd food then drinks my coke was flat i returnd it and asked if it was ok as it was flat and he simply got me another one and plonked it in front of me this man had no exspresion at all never smlied onece plus got half a diet coke was only filled half way said thats the standerd measure.there was no salt so went and asked he for some and he said there should be some around on the table somewhere lol what a joke.then we had to get up again and ask for my sons icecream and yet still no smile lol.will not be returning and it was a waste of money
Decided to eat at the waterside as we hadn't eaten there in a while.
I was disappointed with the service and food. Firstly my sister is vegetarian and ordered a cheese and onion baguette, they sent a ham and cheese one by mistake. Returned that, when the rest of the food arrived it was cold, we sent that back and when got our food for a third time the meal was disappointing. I paid 11.95 for a rump steak that was overcooked and tough, the chips were only half cooked as the centre was cold,
and the peas hard. My sons bun to his burger was hard like it had been put in a microwave. Plates were left on tables for ages and we had to ask the waitress to remove them. I didn't have a good experience and wont be returning in a hurry.
Sitar Was Brilliant!
I went here about 6 month ago. I remember we had coffee my grandad and I. The milk jug that my grandad received for his drink had a line of scum inside. The plate for the meal had a chip in it. Also the food wasn't up to scratch either.
This was during the day when we had to eat at the bar side. The worst thing about the visit was when my grandad complained, which is rare, he was completely fobbed of by the rude manager working that day.
I will never go back again!
worst service i have ever had also found the place to be dirty i would not recommend this place to anyone
i think the waterside is a great place to eat. Great atmosphere and good food. Ive heard its going to be a carvery next year and i can't wait to try it. Good location too.
