About Whats Cooking

Whats Cooking enjoys a stunning location on Liverpool’s historic Albert Dock, housed in the Grade I listed Queen Elizabeth Hall overlooking the city’s iconic Three Graces. It’s the longest-serving restaurant on the Dock and has built a reputation over the years for its tasty southwestern ‘Tex-Mex’ food and great-value cocktails.  Whats Cooking is open seven days a week from 12 noon right through til late and you can drink and dine inside or al fresco, when weather permits. The menu offers a choice of hand-crafted burgers alongside fajitas, burritos, BBQ pork ribs, footlong dogs and various cuts of steak. Grab a booth or one of the window tables with great views out over the Albert Dock.

Booked a table for lunch, children enjoyed the meals off the kids menu which seemed value for money. I had a burger which was delicious! Great service.

Had booked a table for 7.30. Didn't seem to expect us. Main meal arrived whilst still eating starter. Felt abit rushed like they were trying to close up

First time eating here, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff & lovely food, very big portions too, my husband said his chicken wings were the best he has had in a long time, will definitely book again.

Food was really poor standard. We ordered a platter the ribs and corn were cold. For £22 the standard of food was terrible! The waiting staff were really friendly and helpful, and gave us a discount on our food. Would not return and would not recommend it to others.

Never lets us down always lovely food & service would highly recommend

Dreadful experience for this new year celebration spoiled by rubbish food and the restaurant closing down at 9 pm we weren’t told that it would close early when I booked it in October so we were wondering around the Albert dock for 2 hours before the midnight fireworks celebration In hindsight we should have gone elsewhere but we liked the menu and the location of the restaurant Terrible greasy food and over cooked dipping sauce was absolutely awful the steak was full of fatty grizzle and limp salad and the lack of flavour makes the steak taste dreadful the ribs for the starter were minuscule portions and poor quality Our bill was £75 and I felt ripped off The place was deserted by 9.15 and no one said goodbye to us or asked us anything about the experience Would not recommend it to anyone else

Lovely service and food however my clothes and my family’s clothes smelt of a greasy spoon cafe.

We had our new years eve meal here. 1 adult and 2 children. The food was lovely, staff were great. Just enjoyed it from beginning to end. I have fussy kids and they loved the under 12 menu. I had fajitas which were lovely. I was happy with the price too. This was my second visit (as not local) and I would definitely go again.
