My recommendation for anyone planning to eat here would be to drive a few miles further west to the George at Bathampton which is also a traditional character pub/restaurant in a stunning location which serves excellent food.
The White Hart menu is geared up to the hearty meat eater and if you opt for something with a fishy or non meat theme, unless you have a gastric band then either eat first or have a starter. Places that serve starter size portions at main meal prices should have a Michelin star or a reputation for fine dining. This has neither
