Never again!!!!! My family & I regularly eat in China Town & after a leaflet through our door decided to try Wokmania. When we arrived we were shown to a table & handed drinks menus, then the waiter wasn't seen again for approx 15min, by which point my daughter had had enough & got up to order the drinks herself. There was no guidance on the buffet, they simply assumed we knew how they worked & were left to it, resulting in us having to look around for cutlery, napkins etc.
As for the food, the selection of starters was disappointing, many of the food trays were less than half full but weren't being replaced with fresh or hot food until near empty, resulting in many of the dishes having warm dry food, one dish was so dry that when stabbed with a fork it cracked into bits! Some dishes were hot, these tended to be quite nice (i really enjoyed the garlic mushrooms). I found the meat used to be fatty, almost chocking on some beef as i couldn't chew it up & when the ribs were finally put out they were dripping in grease & there was very little meat on them.
The desert table was very pleased, with a chocolate fountain, soft, a serve ice cream machine & nice selection of cakes, biscuits & fruit, though again some were a little dry as they were left uncovered on the table until they ran out & were replaced.
Over all a nice environment, poor servece, poor main courses but nice deserts. We will be going back to Lou's Buffet next time.

The thought of unlimited Chinese food at a bargain price is always a tempting combination, but unfortunately Wokmania doesn't deliver. The decor is not bad for this type of restaurant and it has managed to avoid the school canteen feel, the food however is pretty disappointing - the beef in black been tasted more like beef in water, the "ok chicken" should be renamed "below average chicken", and the spare ribs appeared to be made from rubber. Some bits were ok, such as the egg fried rice, and the service was friendly.
Overall this place is best avoided!

We visited Wokmania on Tuesday 25th September at 6.10 pm. There was very little food in the serving dishes and what food was there was dried up - the duck was hard and the crispy beef was so crispy that I could have broken my teeth. If I was a chicken eater I could have found something as the chicken dishes were plentiful (even though a bit dried up). The salad bar consisted of 3 pieces of cucumber some dried up coleslaw and nothing else, There seemed to be plenty of floor staff working the bar etc but no kitchen staff - when I asked if the dishes were being restocked I was told yes but, by 7.30 this still had not happened. The desert area was well stocked although not having a sweet tooth I came out hungry.( I paid £28.20 (2 diners)and advised staff thet I wasnt happy came home and wrote a complaint to the Gate website (which has not been replied to or acknowledged) I have tried this restaurant on other occasions and was happy with the food and service but this visit I was seriously disappointed and would not recommend again to anyone.

This place is in the Gate, but don't let that put you off! Ideal if your with a few friends and in the mood for a good feed and a few drinks. All you can eat style chinese with some indian and thai(all you can eat duck n pancakes too) ....ooooh oooh and a chocolate fountain with marsh mellows and fruit for pud. Service polite and efficient, drinks a little pricey but main food cost reasonable (if you eat your moneys worth don't bother if you have a tiny appetite!)
