About Yayaka

Yayaka is literally ‘Granny’ in Greek and this Ealing venue celebrates recipes from yayakas right across Greece. Tradition is key here and their pies are made in the traditional, artisan manner  -- hand-rolled on a wooden board, with a slim wooden stick that gives each phyllo the perfect size, shape and texture. Their extra virgin olive oil is sourced direct from the local farmers of Messinia in the Peloponnese and Halkidiki in southern Macedonia. Yayaka is open every day for brunch from 9am and lunch from midday. It’s also now open in the evenings from Wednesday to Saturday with an a la carte selection that includes starters such as their signature Scallops with lentils, shallots and smoked cod roe and mains like Lamb Trahanas, slow-cooked lamb with sour trahanas, Metsovone cheese, smoked aubergine cream and yoghurt. Yayaka also has regular live events running throughout the year.

Wonderful meal, a very warm welcome and a 1st class service. An authentic Greek restaurant with a beautiful story.

We had our wedding anniversary dinner here. Everything including food, wine, service and atmosphere was fantastic. Staff is super friendly and good was stunning. We were advised on the best wine selection for each course. We will definitely get back.

The food was unusual and really flavourful & delicious. Good bottle of Greek wine too. The dessert - filo pastry based, was one of the best I’ve ever had. I’m not usually a huge pudding fan but this was amazing. Would recommend and will definitely return

Had the special Valentines set menu and if the regular food is half as good , this place is a real find. The food was delicious, interesting and well priced. My only comment would be I would have liked the option of some side vegetable dishes but that may have only been the situation with the set menu for Valentines. Very nice venue and friendly efficient service. Will definitely be going back.

We were a very happy party of 5 at the end of the evening. Delicious food and lovely and informative service. The menu is not enormous but everyone was very happy with their selections. Excellent wine too.

Yayaka might be Ealing’s best kept secret! We made a same day booking for dinner, we’re welcomed and seen to our table immediately, and had drinks and our starters within 10 minutes. We loved every dish, but we will be dreaming about the braised lamb until our next visit. Day or night, this little Greek gem is worth a visit!

Just what Ealing needed. Lovely food with a unique touch. I had the kolouri thessalonikis (salmon/egg bagel) and it was delicious. The staff are so lovely and child friendly. Will be back for sure!

Very tasty food. The chef(s) is clearly very talented. I'm not familiar with Greek cuisine so i found the flavours unique. If you like to try something different, away from the "typical" foods, certainly worth trying. My only criticism is value for money. As a rare or one off experience, I will return to Yayaka. I like my food (I certainly have capacity for it), so if you have an appetite it's likely you will need a starter and a main. I had the scallops which is just under £20 and the excellent lamb just under £25. Lamb was totally worth it. As tasty as the scallops were, they were quite anemic. Instantly cheapend the experience. I went for all three courses for dinner and had 2 beers which came to around £70+. With other great places like Polka and Remoli around the corner, not sure the price would justify frequent visits... maybe for the cocktail ;-)
