Having lived in York for many years i have tried almost every Indian. York Spice probably being the best Indian food in York. The atmosphere was also very good with a warm modern decor. Would recommend everyone to try it once and you'll keep on going back.

In my opinion the best Indian restaurant in York currently, and I've eaten at most of them. Avoid the standard madras / bhuna's etc and go for the chef's specials. More expensive than average, but you are paying for real quality. Try the mixed tandoori starter for 2 (excellent), the lamb dalcha (really good) & lemon pilau. Also great chana massala, saag aloo & bombay potatoes. Consistently excellent with a chef prepared to take a few risks.
