About Yukisan

Situated in Plymouth's regenerated Barbican area with its winding cobbled streets, Yukisan is Devon's first Japanese restaurant. There are three distinct dining areas -- two spacious oriental dining rooms and a Japanese room, furnished with traditional Japanese cushioned seats at floor level. From the menus, you can choose from sushi, yakitori, tempura, lobster, oysters, steak, fish, and sashimi. Private dining and special party menus are available.

Wonderful lunch, had 2 courses for £10 at lunchtime - incredible flavours and tasted so fresh. Wonderfully stylish food, excellent service from friendly staff who were helpful when we did not know what to order. Great restaurant with lovely decor - do not be deceived it is not as small as it looks from the outside!

Had a lovely lunch here. Miso soup followed by tempura king prawns and a seafood bento box. all were delicious.

We took our daughter and five of her friends out for a birthday celebration at Yukisan and we can't really praise it enough. The staff is professional and polite (now there's a change) and the service and food were both excellent. We sat upstairs, too and loved the atmosphere. It was a little hard on our backs and legs after awhile though we still recommend it for an authentic experience. 5 stars on all counts. If you haven't been, get going!

A great restaurant, have been back several times & each has been as good as before. Sat in the Japanese room once which is nice but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone over 5.6".

I had an amazing time at this restaurant, I am a vegan so called before hand to check what I could eat, instead of the usual huff I am greeted with the person who answered the phone got the chef who patiently went through the menu with me. The remembered on the night as well and made sure that not even any dips that usually came with dishes had dairy in them. I was so impressed!!!!

I have eaten at Yukisan several times and unlike other restaurants the food was sublime on each occasion, we have introduced our 5 year old son to the restaurant and he now asks for sushi for dinner all the time!!! The lunchtime menu is very good too and the bento boxes delicious.

My wife and I had a t?-?? dinner last Friday in this excellent restaurant. The food was marvellous (we had a set diner), very refined and well presented. The service was attentive. If you're a smoker, try not smoking for once, the non-smoking section of the restaurant is so much better. Especially the upstairs room where one sits on cushions at low tables is just excellent to accompany this food.

The food at yukisan's is beyond comparison, rarely will you find a restaurant that offers such a different variation of food. The service is brilliant, with the waitresses on hand whenever you need them, the presentation has no equal and the taste is something that you will never want to go away, it really is that good.
