Whilst holidaying in Northumberland we ate at Zecca. Food really tasty - Starters: Salt & Pepper Squid, Fishcakes and Garlic Bread (delicious with the addition of salt and pepper and a drizzle of olive oil to make it), Mains Rump steak, Sirloin, Rabbit with Black Pudding and Chicken in Mushroom Cream sauce which were all delicious. Will definitely pay a visit when we are next in the area.
This was my first visit to Richard Sim's new venture in Amble and i was in for a treat, a dark wet wednesday nite and Zecca was busy and the atmosphere was buzzing. The first thing that struck me was the fantastic interior that would not be out of place in Jesmond or town. Salted sqiud had a nice kick and my king prawn and crab taglletlle was gorgeous, my partner is still raving about his Ingram lamb chops.
It was a little further that we'd normally travel, but we'll definitely be back.
