The Harrows – RochdaleMe and my boyfriend ate in the Harrows recently. We both had steak, and it was the nicest steak we have had in a long time. We will certainly be back to try the carvery one Sunday.
The Harrows – RochdaleMy husband's parents took us to Nutters last week for Sunday lunch and I feel compelled to recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone!! My husband and I eat out a lot and have been disappointed in restaurants on many occasions - this was NOT one of them! I can honestly say that I could not fault the food in any way, we chose from the set lunch menu, there were 4 choices of starter, main and pudding and we all ate something different, everything was beautifully presented and delicious and for only £22 per person it included coffee and petit fours and represented outstanding value for money. On the downside, the service was not great, the staff were not particularly friendly and although they were efficient there was a lack of continuity - we had around 7 different members of staff waiting on us over the course of our meal. My only other grumble would be the appearance, although the setting of the restaurant is lovely, being a large house set in it's own grounds with a sweeping driveway and well kept gardens, the interior decor is quite old fashioned and would benefit from a refurbishment. A nice touch are the wines and jewellery for sale in the entrance and the complimentary petit fours with the coffees. We have booked to return to this restaurant for our second wedding anniversary in October - I love it!
Nutters Restaurant – RochdaleDon't complain, or you will be thrown out. We went to the restaurant on Wednesday 6th August after reading positive reviews on sugarvine.com. We arrived to a sign saying "Chef Andrew Nutter". We ordered the 6 course gourmet menu at £36 per head. The first dish was a rather bland cauliflower soup with bacon bits. This was followed by two dishes of fish with rice, the first warm haddock and cold rice and the second an over complicated salmon with tomato risotto. Neither dish was nice and the size of portions between dishes varied greatly. After approximately 30 mintues, the 4th dish of steak of a potato rosti and red cabbage was served. Mine was rare, whereas my partners was well done. Dont know about the rest, as we complained about the food - in a polite manner and were thrown out by Mr Rodney Nutter in an aggressive manner after paying the bill. If you are thinking about going to this restaurant, think twice. Apparently the main menu is much better - don' order the gourmet menu under any circumstances. The peacock room at the crimble restaurant around the corner is far superior.
Nutters Restaurant – RochdaleWent to Nutters Last Friday with my wife and I. I have eaten at a number of excellent restaurants, but Nutters was a clear winner. The food was awesome, starters, main course and dessert were excellent, this is a place you must go to. The scallops starter was beautiful.
Nutters Restaurant – Rochdaleoh my god went to nutters yesterday for the St Georges celebration, it was truly amazing the food, service and atmosphere was truly sensational and made us proud to be English. What a fantastic experience just heard they got the Manchester Restaurant of the year which is well deserved.
Nutters Restaurant – RochdaleOn 4th April 2008 a party of 20 went to Nutters to celebrate my birthday, everyone was impressed with both the standard of the food and the service, even today people are still commenting on the night and how much they enjoyed the Gourmet Menu, amongst the comments was it was the best ice cream ever tasted and the homemade rolls were a great hit, but the comment of the night was from my sister-in-law who came over from Canada and said the meal was worth traveling 4000 miles for. This was my 3rd visit to Nutters and it has not failed to live up to its fine reputation
Nutters Restaurant – RochdaleWe truly cannot fault a single thing about our evening in Nutters, we arrived early to be met at the door and shown to the lavish yet comfortable bar area, there we had a drink and tasty canapes' brought to us and chose our meals, we were sat at our table on the dot at 7.30 and food brought out to us immediately by very polite and welcoming staff, the surrounding was perfectly lit and the food had the most amazing flavours my tastebuds had ever tasted, I had to have the bury black pudding wontons (being a Bury lass)and my partner had the hand dived scallops. . .WOW!!For mains I had the goosnargh duck fillet whilst my partner had the fillet of beef that were both so perfectly cooked, we had an amazing half bottle of wine (£22) that accompanied the meal. the dark chocolate and orange souffle with grand marnier soaked satsumas was out of this world. Thank you to all the staff for a thoroughly enjoyable meal and experience, we were so delighted by it we have bought £35 gift voucher for a family member to experience the gourmet menu that we saw the table near us try. The evening came to £105 including our 'posh' birthday wine splash out and was definitely worth every penny!! We have agreed that it is going to be difficult to match anything like the food we had in Greater Manchester/Lancashire
Nutters Restaurant – RochdaleVery large inside nice decor with typical menu which you get what you pay for nice for everyday meal but not for something different or special occasion.
Sir Winston Churchill – Harvester – RochdaleWat a great place to eat!! i have been here several times now and the staff are always friendly and willing to get what ever it is you want. The standard of food is EXCELLENT. Definitely recommended for a meal with the other half or after a night out with girlie's(as its open til early hours!!).
Asia Restaurant – RochdaleThe whole feel to the place was great but the food was overpriced and awful to start the garlic bread was dry and burnt i payed over £5 for five small scallops (overcooked and under seasoned) and a scrap of bacon and a gallon of olive oil errr the main course chicken and king prawns was tasteless the steak dianne was boring and the choc pudding tasted of plastic and they charged me £75 for the honour!!!! ps silver service is old is outdated

The Cedar Tree at the Sheaf – RochdaleMy family have visited The Yew Tree on more than one occasion and it is down to the friendly service and lovely, tasty home cooked meals provided. Congratulations to the chef who maintains a consistently high standard.
Yew Tree Inn – RochdaleI used to dine here when Alan & Karen owned it. However when they left it went a bit down hill, yes the carvery went. However the carvery is now back and only £11.00 for a 3 course meal. I have been back there 5 times now and thoroughly enjoy it. Bar meals are excellent also. Well done to the new owners
