Lovely Sunday meal with the family Good was great as always and the cauliflower cheese is unreal!

Served by Sarah who couldn’t be anymore helpful if she tried. She was so pleasant and helpful. Food was really good as always.

Food was first class and the service was fantastic , Lovely servers who were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble . I would definitely recommend the Ship and I look forward to going back .

Moved down south 2 years ago and booked this restaurant for our wedding anniversary, without reading up on it, well what a great choice food is delicious, always hot, restaurant is clean and tidy, staff very friendly and accommodating, we use it more as a take away now due to having two toddlers!! But would fully recommend this place every time! X

Never again! poor service - got order wrong twice! Charges £10.50 for popadoms & dips!! In total it cost £100 for 4 people - that's just mains and no alcohol..

Highly recommended. First impression WOW - design and decor first class. The visit just got better service and food second to none. This is a cut above the rest and we wish them every success.

Enjoyable meal but the landlady has an attitude problem very rude and arrogant.

Had lunch at the Shepherd and Dog. The service was a bit slow but polite. While the food for the most part tasted good, I unfortunately suffered severe food poisoning as a result of something I ate there (most likely to be the salt & pepper prawns or the ribs). I normally don't contact restaurants unless I am absolutely sure of the source - and I was in this case - but I was completely unimpressed by the response which effectively said no one else had complained therefore it didn't happen. Their defensive reply leads me to believe that they don't take food safety seriously (in spite of the numerous protocols and routine checks they claimed to have followed), and underlines the mediocre customer service we experienced while we dined there. However a good lesson learned: always complain, even if you're not sure.

What looked to be a very nice restaurant décor wise, was a complete let down on food. We went on a Sunday.

I eat here regular and always enjoy the salad bar, much improved menu. Great table service. Friendly atmosphere.

Couldnt try the cusine as the 4 us of were refused entry as we declined to leave copies of ID on their machine. One wonders where they stand regarding The Data Protection Act. Their loss of at least £60 - perhaps Mr Weatherspoon is not bothered.

Extremely rushed - main meal, dessert and bill paid within an hour - including drinks!

The most awful experience I have ever had. The food was overpriced for what it was. The service was terrible - the waiting staff attempted to remove my drink before it was finished and actually removed my plate while I was still eating - and I mean literally putting a forkful in my mouth! There was no break between the main course and dessert menu and the dessert arrived in 5 mins. We were then presented with a bill and the debit/credit card payment machine. We sat down to our main meal at 7pm and we had finished our meal by 8pm! NOT a relaxing event. We then decided to attend the 'club'. The music was awful and there were plenty of women in the ladies complaining about it too. We were also told to move by a security officer - who was originally positioned outside, to make space for a regular to have her normal position - after she had gone to ask him to move us on. Allegedly, the place was 'reserved' but had no reservation label and we had been sitting there for a good couple of hours beforehand. However, the icing on the cake was the 'high five' the regular gave the security guard after moving us on. Seriously, you couldn't pay me to go there again - I have never been to a more unprofessional venue.

i have been trying to book a meal for 10 people. the number they have goes to an answer machine . no one has got back to me. a shame and very frustrating
