My first impression of this amazing place was the long windy road from hotel's gates over their noisy wooden bridge. A stunning property set in its very own island. My second impression was that it needed a bit of tlc in certain areas and a bit of modernisation of the Spa and sports facilities. Perhaps the high rollers who frequent similar establishments in the UK would have a real problem with this. However these negatives were overwhelmed by the abundant positives. The food on the Friday night was outstanding. Considering our party has eaten in many Michelin restaurants this was some praise. The service matched the quality of cuisine and was again comparable if not better than most of the other restaurants I have eaten in. Very professional and knowledgeable as well as being friendly and chatty at times. We all particularly liked the Italian wine waiter who was a real character. Having my first up close view of the resident badger was also quite an experience. I guess the most unique aspect of The Isle of Eriska is just that, it is a private island and we enjoyed a beautiful 3 hour walk around it one day. We would definitely return and it is one of the best places I have stayed.

Excellent seafood restaurant and pub. it has a quaint 1930's bistro vibe. This is enhanced by the original features in this old dockside pub in Leith. Just a twenty second stroll from where we were staying at Malmaison.

Enjoy the grand and sumptuous surroundings here. Old school charm in the heart of Edinburgh. Choose from different locations to dine or drink.

Wonderful old place filled with character. Enjoyed beer and quality sarnies here at the weekend. Perfect spot for refreshment before or after exploring the wonderful city of Edinburgh.

Excellent service from the staff of Malmaison in Glasgow. Apparently this was the first of the boutique hotels and restaurants in the group. We all enjoyed different steaks in their subterranean bistro. The wine list was very well stocked and we had a couple of French reds that were on offer. Perfect location for exploring the City of Glasgow too. Hopefully we will return.

Happened upon the Balintore Hotel and decided to stay the night - lovely room overlooking the sea, friendly welcome and service and excellent dinner - I can particularly recommend the fish pie! Good value for money as well (B&B for 2 - 60 pounds); I'd definitely come back again.

Food excellent, as good as I've tried in the more expensive Thai restaurants in town. BYOB and added bonus! Small but very friendly too.

Where to start. . . . the fantastic value for money....the friendly welcoming atmosphere....the outstanding portion sizes. or simply the high quality, wonderful tasting dishes this Indian offers? For us the Anarkali is something we have both grown up with, recommended by several family members from different generations who have frequented the restaurant since it opened. As a result the staff have become a surrogate family themselves! As previous reviews have mentioned other more modern, 'trendier' Indian restaurants across Glasgow have disappointed on several occasions. Nowhere ever seems to be able to meet the high standard of service or great tasting variety of dishes available on offer at this South Side eatery. But don't just take our word for it - go try it yourself! Oh and one last word of advice - book in advance if you plan on going on a weekend as it's always packed......need we say more?!

Not sure about this place. Soup was ok but main not great.Perhaps because it was a monday night or perhaps because they get a high turnover of non regulars.

Without a doubt, the best Mexican food I have had. The staff were super-friendly without being over the top. The restaurant is spotless and relaxed. I loved it and am already planning when to return!

Recently we spent a wonderful evening at The Old Bank Restaurant, to celebrate our Anniversary. The food was delicious. We were pleasantly surprised by the large choice of daily specials as well as a varied A la carte to choose from. The food arrived piping hot and the serving were generous. The desserts were equally satisfying and we were having such a lovely evening in tastefully decorated surrounding that we relaxed with liqueur coffees! What a treat it was. A huge thank you to the staff for a memorable evening. We will DEFINATELY be back for more. PS. I should mention that my wife is vegetarian and she also had a variety of different dishes to choose from.

Ate here the other night and took some friends with us. The choice of starters was excellent and although the menu was only on one page there was at least eight mains to choose from. One of our group was veggie and she had three quite unusual mains to pick from. The stuffed chicken and sea bass dishes were brilliant but the real star was the sticky toffee pudding which was one of the very best I have tasted. Apparently the woman cooking got the recipe from an old lady in Banff but it beat any I have tried in Glasgow or Edinburgh by miles. Also saw their valentines menu which looked quite special but was not able to come back for that. They say they source as much ingredients locally and even had the names of some of the suppliers on the menu which I thought was good.
