Really enjoyed everything, lots to choose from, price was perfect ( apart from the add on service charge this should be optional as would have tipped anyway ) food was fab.

5th wedding anniversary night with the wife and we'd wanted to come here for some time, I can honestly say my wife and have not been so disappointed in a restaurant in the 10 years we've been a couple than we were this night. The man and women in charge looked miserable and unable to smile and the staff looked both scared of them and that they'd rather be at home. The starters were overpriced and although mine was nice my wife's salmon fishcakes had the consistency of a rubber omelet, the mains were again overpriced and small but tasty however at around £3.50 for a side of chips that hand no more than 20 chips in a bowl this place was a total letdown. Out of 5 stars I'd give it 1 but that is for the outside seating only.

This was my second visit to House of Zen, but the food was not as good as the last time. Everything came out very quickly, giving the impression dishes were not freshly made. Even though we ordered 3 different main courses, they all came out covered in a dark brown gloopy sauce and did not look nice. That notwithstanding, the taste was better than the look. Attentive and friendly staff.

Really enjoyed our meal at House Zen, staff were great and ensured that my wife was clear was gluten free and doubled checked with the kitchen when they were unsure.

Nice food but not very good value for money. Over attentive staff gave no chance to look at the menu

Our experience was rather mixed. Having specifically requested online a window table, this was brushed aside by the gentleman on reception when we arrived with no attempt made to accommodate our request. The cocktails were great, mixed starters were excellent, one main course was reasonably good but the shin beef was overcooked and very dry. We didn't manage to eat it all and it was not good value. Our waitress was delightful throughout and did a great job. Not sure if we would rush back despite the fantastic location. The food quality overall did not live up to the prices.

as always the food was great and the staff couldn't do enough but felt let down the AC wasn't turned on such a hot day.....and when asked we were told the AC didn't work by management and as i am in the industry i felt this may not have been the truth and felt due to the cost of electric these days it just want turned on and this made a very uncomfortable meal.......note sure putting profit over this was such a great idea when it was so hot

The positive - an absolutely great view! The not so great - The restaurant could do with a deep clean especially round the window seat and window sill. Lots of food deposits and spills. If it was my restaurant and the view was one to the great selling points, I would be making sure the windows were very clean especially the prolific seagull deposits. Unfortunately, I get the feeling that they don’t need to worry & they will get the customers anyway. That isn’t the only reason for the lower scores. I only had a lime and soda to drink and it was either the cheapest possible lime cordial known to man or there was something a little off with either the ice or the soda water. I didn’t complain at the time because it didn’t feel alike it would be taken well! In short, not the greatest restaurant I’ve ever been to and certainly not the cheapest. My top tips - The guy on the “till” could do with improving his customer awareness and the place could be a lot cleaner. Given the above giving the 3 points on each section is feeling rather generous!

Absolutely fantastic. Staff were lovely & food was beautiful. We had 2 cocktails each aswell which were lovely. Would definately return.

Me and my girlfriend attended Zen on Friday night The service and food was excellent. The staff were very helpful on choosing a dish for my girl and she don’t like fish

Good food and service but the drinks are very overpriced £5.30 for a pint of John smiths!
