Da Gino – Sutton ColdfieldMy partner and I visited The Green House on our way back home after a visit to Shakespeare Country. The staff were very helpful; the meal was excellent and the overall experience had character behind it.
The Green House – Sutton ColdfieldI'm hooked! I have been a few times now and have never been disappointed. Gavino's epitomises the family run Italian trattoria. Superb veal, proper fillet steaks and fresh fish. All the staff offer awarm and friendly service, as if your enjoyment really is important to them. The prices are modest; two could eat two courses for under £50 with a bottle of housewine- £60 with fillet steaks.
Gavino’s – Sutton ColdfieldThis is one of the best Indian restaurants in Sutton Coldfield. A friend recommended this restaurant and it certainly lived up to the expectations. The atmosphere was very friendly and the decor is absolutely beautiful. I ordered the Tetul mix and was delicious and the main course, which was the Jingha shahi rogon with pilau rice, it was really nice. Also the prices are reasonable and the staff are very pleasant. I would highly recommend it. I went with my friends and we all loved it.
Karma Lounge Restaurant – Sutton ColdfieldTotally ruined my birthday! I was stuck on a seat in the middle of a walkway, although we booked over 2 weeks ago a table of 5 was squeezed onto 4 which meant I couldn`t reach over to get the sauces etc. Service took an age, even to get a glass for my wine. Starters (Nargis) and popadoms excellent. My curry a nightmare. It was so salty it was unedible, complained and guess what "we are sorry sometimes the chefs may of seasoned it twice by mistake" no offer of replacement or refund just "I`ll look after you next time" which I stated I wont be coming back... he just walked off.. My meal was included on the bill.

La Scala Ristorante Italiano – Sutton ColdfieldThe best Indian restaurant in Sutton Coldfield. Food and service superb. 10/10 .
Karma Lounge Restaurant – Sutton ColdfieldVisited Da Gino for the first time my wife, who is wheelchair bound, and myself. Were made most welcome inside the restaurant. The atmosphere was relaxed easy, the food was excellent and well presented which is why we plan to return very soon. Well done Gino and staff.
Da Gino – Sutton ColdfieldFood good, but too expensive without the 25% off tickets. White Horse food as good but better prices,Oak.
The Boot Inn – Sutton ColdfieldSince Eugenio Cozzi took over this restaurant a few years ago I have seen it improve from good to outstanding, probably because excellence in a restaurant stems from the top, and Signor Cozzi clearly knows how to get the best out of his staff, perhaps because he has been a waiter and cook himself in the past, and still retains his enthusiasm for every aspect of the job – and consequently knows how to appoint good staff. That must be one reason why the waiters are unfailingly friendly and helpful, not only to me, a ‘regular (and by this I mean four times a week for lunch, and a few times a month in the evenings!) but equally so to those around me, some of whom are clearly first-timers; and the cooks are not only highly competent, but show imagination in attractively varying their dishes so as to please their customers As a diabetic, I could have found my choice limited, at lunchtime even by a menu whose range of choice is very generous at the price, but the staff make vigorous efforts to come up with something both suitable and enjoyable – and again I hear this happening to nearby customers when appropriate. I enjoy the ‘ambience’ as well as the food – the place buzzing with the noise of happy eaters, and friends meeting for a good gossip and to exchange news! What are my qualifications, you may ask, to pontificate like this? Well, I drive regularly to France, largely for the sun, the food and the wine, and find myself regularly in Beaune, Burgundy, whose restaurants are legendary, one of which, proudly sporting its ‘Bib Gourmand’, I have been patronising for 19 years. That is my yardstick! As a diabetic, I eat a lot of fish. I have paid a lot of money for fish in some distinguished restaurants in Burgundy, and I have yet to find a restaurant that can challenge Gino’s in this respect. We ‘afishionados’ are lucky to live in Birmingham, whose fish-market is as good as any in the realm, but, to get it, a restaurateur has to go regularly at crack of dawn and know the best stalls to visit and what to look for, and one who does is called Gino Cozzi! I have enjoyed superb lobster, halibut and sea bass, a la carte at Gino’s. I have also eaten equally memorable sardines for a starter on the lunch menu. As befits an Italian restaurant, the pasta is equally memorable for its range and excellent quality. Whatever the dish, its presentation is always a pleasure to the eye, and the service almost always fast and efficient. I write ‘almost’ because the staff are human beings, and when many customers, as they do, all want to come at about the same time and when the restaurant is nearly full, do not be surprised if, very occasionally, you have to wait a little longer than usual, or under extreme pressure the staff even get something wrong!
Da Gino – Sutton ColdfieldHave visited this restaurant several times over the past 12 months and it has been excellent each time . I am coeliac and have to avoid wheat, they have no problem in adapting recipes for me, I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
Da Gino – Sutton ColdfieldWow, what a spectacular night for our anniversary. The food was just perfect, the best meal we have ever had. Amazing. The service was second to none. Our wheelchair was was very unobtrusively accepted. What a lovely, lovely night. We're waiting for the next special occasion to come along so we can go again. Amazing food, service and fabulous surroundings. Perfect night. Thankyou.
Da Gino – Sutton ColdfieldEnjoyed an excellent Cannelloni at Da Ginos for lunch yesteday. The restaurant is on a nice quiet street in an upmarket district of Birmingham. The place is upmarket too, classic style in design and food. Service was very good especially from the boss Gino!
Da Gino – Sutton Coldfieldwonderful little restaurant, very nice staff excellant food and service, lovely decor with proper serviettes not cheap paper rubbish and nice plates etc with their own name on,its BYO prices are very reasonable
Karma Lounge Restaurant – Sutton ColdfieldI bought a Groupon deal for this restaurant which was supposed to be worth up to £59.60. Only to find out they have a separate Groupon menu which serves less than half the portions compared to dishes of the same price from the regular menu! A starter worth £4.95 was literally 80-90 sauce and had 2 cubes of lamb each 1 square inch in size. One King prawn main dish which was supposed to be worth £9.95 had 3 small prawns in it! When I complained to the owner he told me that Groupon portions were indeed smaller but did not admit this to be misleading. If not, than what is the 66 discount based on? Not to mention the fact we had to wait one full hour for our food. Absolutely horrible experience!
