We have been many times and the food is always excellent - this time was the same except the beef was slightly too rare for us and the gravy way too salty I notice other people on different tables had left it. We were overall very pleased with our meals

Second visit in recent weeks - very impressed again with the food. Nobody had any complaints, and Alvanley Arms remains one of those places you book knowing that you won’t be disappointed. My husband says it’s one of the best mixed grills he’s ever had. Fish and chips was lovely as always. Kids loved theirs too. The apricot and lavender tart is one of the best desserts I’ve eaten anywhere. Seems to be a hidden gem as it’s never been overly busy when we’ve been in. Fantastic food, lovely venue, highly recommend.

We have been eating at Panama Hattys for over 25 years it is our go to place for us as a couple and if we have a celebration for the family.Always lovely staff and food.I think it says a lot that the same 2 managers are still there after 28 years.

Having just moved to the area , we had driven past this pub and decided to book for a sunday lunch . We both had the mixed meats , which came with roasties, mash , a selection of vegetables , a massive yorkshire pudding and gravy. Really lovely tender meat selection and a roast that tasted like homemade. The staff were all really friendly and welcoming . We will most definitely be going back soon.

We called for a meal on my birthday as we've not been for a while, as usual we were not disappointed and had a lovely evening, friendly casual atmosphere and Great food and service..

Lovely meal and very friendly staff. A little gutted, as wanted duck but there was none available at a Monday 6pm sitting but very nice pork all the same

Went for Sunday lunch, the place was very busy, despite this, the food we ordered arrived quickly and was simply superb, the best roast dinner I have ever had. The service was also excellent, I thouroughly recommend and will be visiting again very soon, well done!!

This is the second time I have eaten at this gastropub. Both times we have had excellent food and service. The menu caters properly for vegan and gluten free diners which has made this an ideal place to eat for our mixed group of diners. On our recent visit the group had a brisket roast and vegan (and gf) sweet potato tart. For puds we had a mixture of gf sticky toffee pudding, a vegan lavender tart and a rhubarb and custard tart. All were excellent.

Wow, what a find! We cannot decide whether the food or the hosting was the better. Hubby had the soup of the day and then scampi, I had the prawns & avocado (minus the avocado as there wasn't any left) and then the greek chicken hanging kebab. All of it was delicious and very filling. The hosting was lovely. To the 2 ladies that looked after us a big thank you, thank you, thank you. If we're ever in this area again will definitely call back. 5 stars. Would definitely recommend here.

Been going to panama hatties for best part of 30 years now. Lovely food as usual . Good service and friendly staff. Dont change what is a winning formula

Everything about the restaurant was superb as usual. We have been visiting with our two friends from North Wales for over 25 years and can’t fault it. Staff very friendly and professional, Phil and Andy very professional and committed. Food always top quality, restaurant decor always top class, drinks menu excellent. As you can now gather we love the place

We had a table booked for 20.00, and we were delayed en-route and arrived over 30 minutes late. The staff were wonderful, and the meal arrived very promptly and was delicious. Cannot praise our experience enough. recommended. Thank you.

Average pub grub. A few things could be better, frozen chips, overly sweet sauce on the duck tho the pork belly was good. Service was very slow and we were seated in a side room with a large family gathering next to us which was noisy and not much fun. We could have asked to move but a bit of thought by the pub wouldn’t have seated us there in the first place. Waitress was quite stressed, forgot the coffee, took ages to take our order. She was apologetic and we tipped but she didn’t really deserve it. There are lots of pubs on the area and they should try a bit harder to guarantee repeat business
