We unfortunately chose Hooks for a birthday last Saturday. We booked and were given a reservation for 9pm. We arrived and were told our table was given to people who hadn't booked and would we mind waiting for them to reset a table. We did so, and the took another twenty minutes to seat us. We didn't get any food until 10.35, the steaks were well cooked, served with frozen chips, and an undressed salad. Service from the staff was attentive, but management thought the long wait was acceptable.

Lovely! Cosy atmosphere, tasty food and easy disabled access! Best pub we visited in Torquay during our stay.

The food was amazing for the price. will be going back again!!! loved it.

The Devon Dumpling, is a very pleasant place to spend an evening. And you need a very large appetite to be able to clear your plate of the wonderful food they serve. Would recommend everyone to try it.

we visited this restaurant while on holiday last week, it is in beautiful setting over looking the river, and nicely decorated inside. we had the corned beef hash which was delicious. would definitely go again next time we are in Devon

Stuart and I ate here last year while on holiday and were very impressed as you can see by our ratings. Everything was of the highest standard and it was delight to have such good food in this area.

fantastic size portions, really friendly staff - excellent steaks, have been 3 times now & always enjoy the nights dining. don't try to move the chairs they are huge, you will probably give yourself a hernia! Do take the time to check out ''graffitti'' in the ladies loo girls!

Went there for a birthday meal, the food was excellent and good value for the money. All had a fab time, everywhere is decorated with a American theme.

I was looking for a nice Italian Restaurant to celebrate a family birthday on a short break to Torquay. In the absence of any reviews I chose Biancos and what an excellent choice it proved to be. Biancos is a small, intimate restaurant close to the harbour. The quality of the food is superb (both fish and meat dishes sampled) and the portions are more than ample! The staff were very attentive, even peeling the King prawns for my 10 year old son to allow his mother to commence her starter in peace. I have rated Biancos as "pricey" but this was largely due to an expensive bottle of wine selected and overall it was very good value for money. If we return to Torquay we will certainly be heading for Biancos.

We have been to many restaurants for this type of food and all i can say is it was awesome. The Food we had 'fajita combo' was piled high. if I had known i would have not had a starter. Then I would have space to fit it all. the drinks are well priced and many choices available. This place is a must.

I went to the Lansdowne the other night as my starting point before a night out and was very impressed with the warm welcome i got from Alan the barman. Andy the karaoke man was very entertaining and the atmosphere is tremendous.

I was staying at The Ashfield On Scarborough Road for a length of time And The lady there(Ann) recommended i come along here for my evening meals well i can tell you I was not disappointed the food is cooked to order the staff are a friendly lot the Landlady has a wonderful sense of humour relaxed cosy and excellent value As Ann said they use it all the time and i can see why and i suppose this is a plug for Ashfield Guest House excellent accommodation nothing too much trouble will be definitely going back to these two places

Spoilt for choice this hidden gem in StMarychurch. Hazel is very welcoming. Local produce superbly served in a bistro setting. Cosy and intimate setting. Good choice of wines not overpriced.

The Lansdowne is a very nice place to have a social drink. Everyone is very friendly there and there is a terrific karaoke on Saturday night enjoy a nice 3 course meal at the Lansdowne inn

fantastic food, probably the best steak i have ever eaten!!! friends we were with had a king Arthurs Feast and it was just that. Will def be back next time i am in Torquay

Great place, great vibe great food.

Run and worked by the owners, who are wonderful and make you feel right at home. This homely cafe has music from live musicians that blow your mind. I have never felt so welcome as I did at the blue walnut!
