Really nice restaurant. The staff are attentive and work very hard to keep everyone happy. The food is varied and is tasty and beautifully presented. It's menus change by the season and there's a very nice atmosphere about the place.

Myself and my partner went to The Cat last Saturday night for food and drink and were not disappointed!! The place is cool in the extreme in terms of design and decor and complimented by wonderful food and amazing crafted cocktails plus some wacky draught beers. We will happily return and recommend too

With the departure of the locally-owned Cafe Citron from Lemon Street comes the march of the mainstream and the arrival of Pizza Express wearing its Sunday Best. Wedging an ASK restaurant into Truro must have been a challenge for it's owners....to come into one of the UK's smallest cities, around the corner from it's well established, well known and well loved older brother. An older brother that lives in the beautiful old Coinage Hall on the main town 'square', not just tasty unfussy food, but a great dining room to eat it in. Compare this with what ASK has moved into; 2 long narrow ground floor shops with the window at one end. It's done a great job! The design is well thought out and makes good use of what space is available. The staff too deserve praise, being friendly and who wait the seemingly large number of tables with speed and professionalism. And there lies the rub....so many tables, one kitchen, a national chain with targets to meet. The food was safe, average and sterile. I'm sure the chef would love to do more, but it won't happen here. With current TV fashion suggesting we enjoy local, fresh, unfussy dishes then this is not the place. If you fancy pizza/pasta then head round the corner for the same stuff one quid cheaper at Pizza Express. For great tasting restaurant food, just look around. Truro has plenty - with Gaudis, Mannings and Bustophers all within a 5 minute walk.

I took my wife to Bustophers for our first wedding anniversary after being recommended it by a close a friend who visited Truro a month ago. Not knowing the area I was a little unsure what to expect but what a fantastic find. This restaurant is one of the best I have had the opportunity to visit. The food was out of this world and the atmosphere was second class. The attention to detail is what makes this place so special and it is certainly a restaurant we will visit again. This is the one of the best restaurants in Cornwall. Every one deserves to enjoy this place and we can not recommend it enough!

We have lived in the Truro area for 25 years, so what a wonderful change to Bustopher's after that dark dreary interior. The bar area is superb and very inviting. The service afforded to us was excellent, particularly from Tom (the bar Manager). We had a wonderful bass served up on a base of dauphinoise potatoes and vegetables with superb sauce to match, probably the finest in the area. However, the Sunday roast did not meet up to our expectations and, sadly, was overcooked and of poor quality. Prices are commensurate with Truro's eateries although watch the cost of certain wines by the glass; it can work out to be expensive. Probably better to order a bottle if drinking at the bar. Overall though, a fine establishment with a terrific and exciting evening ambience. The waitresses are all very attractive, but some closer interaction with customers would go down well rather than just pointing them to a table and looking pretty.

8 of us went for a hen night last Sat night and had a ball. We ate upstairs and watched all the fun of the bar below not to mention having a bit of a giggle ourselves-particularly with some of the good looking boys who work there. Food was great, cocktails brill and service attentive but not too formal and in your face. Love the building and the name!! Bizarre but certainly memorable

We're down on hols from the Midlands and we went to this old Church around this time last yr just as it opened, maybe it was July. However, we've been back in and if anything it's even better than a yr ago. Food is amazing with a capital A!! Drinks too are quirky, innovative and truly funky. The building still looks like brand new and really stands out in a place where there is a fair share of average.

Excellent food, by far the best in Truro. Lovely restaurant, great wines and good service. Would highly recommend the fish on the blackboard. Maybe some online info/a website would be a good investment as it took a while to find any details after being recommended the restaurant by a friend. We'll be back for sure.

Had a great meal at Chantek last night. Extensive menu was almost to big to make a choice from with so many things I wanted to try. In the end I had DimSum and Kari Seafood. Both were excellent. I'm no dim sum expert but it was very tasty. The seafood was fresh the sauce just the right amount of kick. A side of pad pad veggies was just a bit to much but was well cooked. The place was nicely buzzy for a weekday night too. Lived up to its reputation very well.

Terrific bar, lovely atmosphere in a beautiful old building. The staff are lovely, even the security men on Friday night were so pleasant and friendly that we forgot that they were security guards.

This is one of our favourite restaurants in Truro. Been waiting for something like this for ages. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it for the quality. Always very clean and staff so friendly. We like the way you see them cooking in front of you- great place highly recommend trying!

We have eaten at the Xen bar numerous times and have always found the service, quality of food and the overall experience very very good. We will always recommend the Xen bar for a perfect oriental meal at a very fair price. But do not take our word for it, go and try it for yourself but pre booking is always a good idea. Enjoy your meal.

We went to 'The Cat' last night to watch Martin Harley. It was fantastic he played on the balcony so everyone could see him, the place was buzzing. The drinks, food and staff as always were amazing, this is the best bar in Truro and has become the only place my friends and I go. I recommend it to everyone especially on the live music nights

Me and my guy went to pizza express after being turned away from Piero's - and we are so glad we came across it. They were also busy but made space for us and we had a delicious meal which we now rate higher than Piero's. The wine was also nice and not to pricey!! Love it lots and we are now repeat visitors!

We went to Tabb? using the Dine in style promotion from the West Briton as we heard it was expensive so wanted to see what the food was like before spending too much. We thought it was excellent the food was really good and we enjoyed it immensely so will definitely go back for a special occasion. Looking at the rest of the menu it isn? as expensive as i was led to believe either. The pork belly was melt in the mouth really good. Definitely recommend it.
