Really nice tapas served here...all cooked in front of you in an open-view kitchen. I personally believe La Torre is of a higher quality then any of the La Tascas I've eaten at. Better food and better value. Will definitely be dining here again.

I think this Tapas restaurant beats most of the ones I've been to in central Manchester. It's an absolute bargain during happy hour where you get two tapas for the price of one. The menu might not be that extensive but the food that they do serve is absolutely delicious! I recommend the chicken in white wine sauce - yum!

The Standard is by far the best Indian experience i have had in Manchester. Forget the curry mile, this is the place to be! My mate took me one night, and that was it! i would never go any where else! I always get the same chicken nag! beautiful. The staff are very friendly and its a joy to go there. I very rarely give out compliments where food is concerned. This place is a must! trust me. Lads you do a great job! Tony and nick!!

Having been to a great many Indian restaurants, we have yet to find one in the same league as the standard. The service is fantastic and the food is second to none (well worth the trip from anywhere in the north west). I particularly recommend the 'sheezan murghi' which is fairly hot but with awesome flavour (a must try if you like madras). my fiancee has the 'Balti pashwari murgh' which is a must for anybody who enjoys korma. If you haven't already tried this restaurant, TRY IT!! and I bet you'll be back! There's a few pubs and bars nearby too for afterwards

I must have visited a different place! The ping of the microwave said it all. Nothing special at all.

We've been the last couple of Saturdays and must admit, food, service, wine are all excellent. Surprised how little it cost also - will definitely be going again soon!

We have recently moved to the area and because we had been decorating we decided to get a take away and because I had seen in a local paper that the Blue Raj had won an award recently we ordered a take away. The food was very oily and didn't seem freshly cooked (more warmed up) in fact my husband felt very ill a few hours after eating. It's off our list we won't be going back!

We went last month for our anniversary and we made an excellent choice. The food was lovely really fresh, good portions and the service was very attentive. There was a good variety of food on the menu and the specials even for a fussy eater like me we will be going back soon.

Ten members of Trafford Curry Club ate at the Deccan on Thursday 2nd April 2009. We booked a table for 8.30pm and on our arrival there were a number of tables already in use. The decor is quite dated in the seventies style but it only adds to the charm and nice relaxed homely atmosphere. This restaurant has been going over thirty years so it must be doing something right! We started off the evening with the ubiquitous poppadums with mango chutney, onions, mint yoghurt and lime pickle. Then we had mixed starters for ten persons which all came on individual plates and consisted of Tikka Lamb, Chicken, Onions and Salad all of which were absolutely delicious. For mains we ordered a wide selection to test the Chefs competency and we were not disappointed. We had Chicken Khorma, Lamb Passanda, Lamb Kharai, Chicken Kharai, Chicken Jalfreizi, Chicken Tikka Jalfreizi, Garlic Prawns and Lamb and Chicken Bhuna. With the rice we also had a choice of Garlic, Keema and Peshwari Nan bread. All the mixed starters and main courses came together which was really pleasing. Every order was perfect with nothing missing or incorrect. For drinks we had draught Cobra and Carlsberg lager and bottled bitter. We rounded off the evening with coffees and sliced oranges. The bill came to £190 for all the food and drinks which we thought was very reasonable for what we had to eat. We really enjoyed our evening and we all agreed that the Deccan is the type of restaurant that you will always want to visit time and time again like visiting an old friend. For those who like their curries hot we recommend the Chicken Tikka Jalfreizi! Thank you Deccan for a lovely evening.

We were disappointed with our food at this restaurant. I was expecting much better. The soup starter was very good indeed and served piping hot but the mains were below par. I had a rib eye steak which was a bit tough and tasted pan burnt. The jus that was with it tasted the same. My friends mixed grill was average aswell. How can you get chips wrong? They too tasted burnt, not overdone, but the oil must have been old. I noticed other diners' chips were the same. The brandy coffee was cold and I actually took it back into the kitchen. My veggie friend though said her food was very good. The pudding choice was not great so we skipped it.

I had a very enjoyable meal at Isinglass a couple of weeks ago and couldn't recommend it enough. Both the food and the service were faultless. It's just a shame the restaurant wasn't busier, will definitely be going again!

Seven members of Trafford Gourmet Curry Club visited the Standard at 8.30pm on Thursday 20th November 2008. We had previously tried the Blue Raj and the Kulshi and the Standard was next on our list. On our arrival the place was very busy and although we had not booked the staff found us a table without any hassle. We ordered 14 Poppadums with a choice of garnishes including one we had not had anywhere before but tasted like Strawberry Jam ( Delicious ). We then ordered mixed starters for seven plus an extra portion of Tandoori Lamb Chops, Ribs and Sheekh Kebab. They arrived shortly after we had finished our poppadums and they were delicious! After ploughing our way through the starters, for mains we ordered one Chicken Shezanne Murghi ( Hot and Spicy ) three Lamb Khari, two Taste of Shundorbon ( one chicken, one lamb) and one Chicken Tikka Masala. All the meals came together and we just about managed to polish off the lot! With lager and coffees the bill came to £127 which surprised us as we thought it would be considerably more. A free complimentary Hennessy Brandy rounded off a perfect evening. All in all we were pleasantly surprised both with the attentiveness of the staff and the quality of the cuisine. Perhaps they should change the name to Very High Standard! Thanks once again Standard for a very enjoyable evening!
