I started using the royal oak on a regular basis with friends and family members at Christmas 2008, We have recommended the food and service ever since. On Tuesday the 25th of august 2009 we "the wife me and my 4 year old son" went to the royal oak to eat when entering it became apparent that things had changed no more meal offers and the menu had altered slightly. we ordered a starter (chicken skewers) that my wife (a fully trained and qualified chef of over 20 years) questioned to the extent of " was it home made ????? " it was definitely not unreformed chicken and looked very processed priced at £3.99,Main course was again simple with my wife (the army trained chef) ordering a steak pie i ordered the chicken and leak the food arrived in good time but for some reason my wifes pie was of a good size as id expect from a £8.75 steak pie, my pie arrived and i truly thought it was for my 4 year old son the pie was no bigger than your average small wedge of cheese aprox 90p worth (cheap cheese at that) two small pices of chicken and no sign of leaks, I spoke to the shift manager and he stated that the pie they did prior was a chicken and mushroom and that again was of a far greater quantity but didn't sell and then proceeded to tell me that the steak pie was more expensive and that was why mine was so poxy. Im sorry royal oak but a pie at £8.75 containing steak should not contain 900% more filling than a pie containing chicken and leak,the bill came in at a total cost of £35.94 including drinks i left totally dissatisfied and still hungry having to make additonal food when returning home.I now intend to let every one no what has changed and dont wish for any one else to be dissatisfied to the exspensive exstent we were.

My husband and myself have just been to the Three Horseshoes for a meal for our anniversary. I can only say that the meal that we had, Steak and Ale pie was the best that we have had for a long time. Not only was the food excellent but it was very good value also. I would recommend this restaurant highly.

The pan fried liver is the best i have tasted, staff great, food great, eaten here on and off for years never been disappointed.

Went last night with my wife. Have been many time before and always found it good. Food tasteless last night...all dishes. Wont go again!!

well what can i say it's a real joy eating here excellent service and even better food. if you like your Indian food then get your self down there you wont be disappointed,it's ok threw the week but i recommend getting there early on a weekend cos it get busy with the locals..

a group of ten of us went from work the restaurant was not busy only two other tables we found the dishes tasting all the same and the service was very slow worst of all we were over charged by ten pounds did not even get an apology and the meat was tough and rubbery will never go back

Really enjoyed are meal their when we visited 2 weeks ago really pleasant an friendly and will visit again shortly

We have lived in Wakefield over two years now and only just discovered this Gem. The atmosphere, staff and food are all excellent. We were greeted with a great welcome and the service was superb and I am not a big Italian food fan. Look out for the Sloanes Prawns appetiser it is fantastic. We will be making it a regular haunt now. Cheers

have just eaten at bella roma this weekend, was fantastic. the wine and food were superb. the staff are very friendly and see to you every need and the chefs, they need a big pat on the back. Have seen a couple of comments on here, about an english dessert, on the menu is an apple and blackberry crumble how english is that

5 or 6 years since my last visit and early Friday night found this out of town modern and airy unit in a nest of eateries near Asda, not so busy. I was concerned that the recession was biting this part of Wakefield adjacent to Sandal, traditionally a wealthier suburb. Sadly this was not a great eating experience. My sirloin steak had the consistency last seen being chewed on Im a celebrity get me out of here..it was replaced without question.."must be a bad batch we have had a few sent back" the waitress offered..Why not take it from the menu then? The chosen replacement chargrilled lamb chops were a hemisphere away from the turgidity of the steak. Delicious tender and cooked superbly. That was the high note although fellow guests found Sea Bass a)excellent and b) Ok a little too much oil. Meatballs were pronounced dull.Pizzas ok. We were overcharged and had a 10% service charge to add insult. A party of 11 with 8 adults we were charged for 6 bottles of Rose as different staff were acting as wine waiter. Only on later reflection did we work this out. We had 4 bottles..Result? Lamb chops 10 Rinaldis 1. Other options preferred for future family celebrations

This was a fantastic experience!!! I dined with my hubby and bub, and I had a steak pie to die for with the most scrumptious shortcrust pastry on top. At last, I have found a great pub with a chef who knows his stuff!!! The wait staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating ! I am also a chef by profession and I my standard of food I choose to eat is very high!! Well done to the team at the Three Houses Inn.

Ate at Bella on Saturday. Busy, lively, great atmosphere, in fact can't be beaten in the area. Also, they take notice of customer suggestions...there's Black currant & Apple crumble on the menu, and it tasted great.

The service at Valentios is absolutely appalling and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I can't actually comment on the food because in the end we had to walk out as we had waited so long to be seated. We had a booking at 7.30 and were still not seated by 9pm, at which point we gave up and had to resort to takeaway pizza instead. We had been told we would definitely be seated by 8pm but this was not forthcoming as was no apology or attempt to make our evening any better. We were just left in the bar area, along with a large number of other parties that were waiting for their tables too. I have never experienced such disgraceful behaviour and customer service at a restaurant and will never go there again.

i love the Rhubarb triangle. We have a toddler and they have a fantastic menu for little ones including an organic one. The staff are always really friendly and happy. The food is lovely (although i do wish they would put Chocolate Orange Cheesecake back on the menu!)

We have been a few times since Rusticos has been open. The food is good and the service is even better a good friendly atmosphere with very helpful staff. I cannot fault this place at all. I ask for a beer that was not on the menu and on our next visit they had it for me.
