Red Chilli II – WakefieldAs fab as ever!!
Balti House – WakefieldHad a wonderful meal at The Vixen restaurant at the Fox & Hounds. Apparently the new owners there have only been there for two months but it's a lot better than when we last went there. The food was really well prepared, had a steak and sea bass and they were both excellent. They've re-decorated and have a new Lounge with leather furniture to relax in too. Would recommend.
Fox and Hounds – WakefieldLove this place. Really good decor and atmosphere and absolutely brilliant food and service! Usually have steak when I go - and I love the peppercorn and dijonaise sauces! I really, really like the salads in the starters as they're always a bit different but absolutely delicious! I think the prices reflect what you get - I'm always full to the brim when I leave here!
Cow Shed Restaurant and Grill – Wakefielddelicious fresh food with brilliant service, at busy times expect a small wait.... well worth the wait though... very pleased Prego is now open on a friday lunch! starters, mains and desserts all freshly made.. best restaurant in Wakefield by far.
Prego Pizzeria – Wakefieldwe were very disappointed with a meal we received at the weekend while visiting with friends who have always had very good meals there. they had run out of what we first ordered and when our second choice of meal came all the veg were almost raw and cold and some veg and gravy advertised on menu was missing. we complained and reordered but the second meal was not very hot either although the veg was better but as we had been waiting about 1hr 30mins and were hungry we ate it. I would like to praise the waitress who attended to us as she was very friendly and apologetic but this was not her fault. something was very amiss in the kitchen and should be sorted.
Rhubarb Triangle Brewers Fayre – WakefieldI would recommend the Kings Arms for the food but not for the service. We ate there last week and there were no vegetarian options, no childrens menu ON SUNDAYs only. I wonder what vegetarians and children do on Sundays in Wakefield? When asked what was for dessert, we were bluntly told 'I have no idea'. When I asked, so can you tell me how I find out, the bar staff reluctantly rang the kitchen and found out.. We were about to hand over another £30 but decided to promptly leave after several rounds of actually trying to spend some money..
Kings Arms – WakefieldGreat pub food! Say no more, well I cant stop myself. Just eaten their last night and what a lovely time and meal we had. Good old traditional pub food, I had sirloin steak, cooked perfectly and my wife had scampi & chips again lovely.
Black Bull – WakefieldI would thoroughly recommend anyone who lives in the West Yorkshire/ South Yorkshire Area to visit this Italian Restaurant. We eat there every fortnight, and I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal, or even a standard meal there. The food is top quality and well priced, and the service is always professional, friendly and efficient. I tried the new lunchtime menu there only last week, and was completely impressed. We don't need to go to Sheffield or Leeds when this gem is on our doorstep. 10/10.
Rinaldis – WakefieldSATURDAY NIGHT I HAD A MEAL WITH MY GIRLFRIEND WE HAD NOT BEEN FOR WEEKS. THE BAR STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL AND SO WERE THE RESTAURANT STAFF. WE HAD TWO MIXED GRILLS COOKED TO PERFECTION, WE WILL BE SURE TO RETURN IN THE FUTURE. GOOD PUB FOOD COOKED TO A VERY HIGH STANDARD.
Black Bull – WakefieldWent for Sunday lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of food available for £6.50 each! Cracking Sunday lunch and much to our surprise dessert was included in the price! Will be going back again soon.
Thatched House, The – WakefieldGreat pub, just eaten from the Carvery, which must be the best in the area. I had all 3 meats and helped myself to loads of veggies and roast potatoes! Probably the largest Yorkshire puddings Ive seen in a long time. Amazing value for money. Normal menu also available. Great place, great value for money
Black Bull – WakefieldAbsolutely top notch - food is highly recommended - especially if you like them hot - ask for a chicken thaal - lovely!
Ruchee Restaurant – WakefieldExcellent food 7 days a week, good value for money, good atmosphere. Can get crowded
The Three Horseshoes – WakefieldWe regularly have a take away delivered from the Balti House which is always lovely. Best curry we have ever had. Thank you
Balti House – WakefieldMy wife and I dined here on 18 January and the experience was as close to perfect as you could probably get. Many of the reviews on here refer to it being pricey, but you get what you pay for in life. I had the 10oz ribeye steak, my wife chose Barbary duck. Whilst people refer to a 'juicy steak' so often it's become a bit of a cliché, this one actually was! It was a fine example of how a steak ought to be cooked, and the aromas it produced had me salivating before the waiter got the plate to my table. The massively chunky chips were equally good; being both crisp on the outside with an almost candy floss like interior. We pushed the boat out with one of the fine wines and, although we were brought the cheaper version of the Rioja, our waiter had realised this and replaced it before we had chance to tell him. The desserts were just as sumptuous and it was refreshing not to have an overwhelming menu to choose from, though we still took some time to make up our minds. In conclusion: very polite and friendly staff, significantly higher that average food quality went to make up an excellent dining experience. Only (minor) criticism is the lighting which was slightly too low. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING, COWSHED!
Cow Shed Restaurant and Grill – WakefieldTerrible food, excellent service. I hadn't visited the Pagoda for about 12 months and unfortunately this time round found the food to be bland. Its a shame cause I used to rely on this place when I fancied going out for Chinese. However, the service as always was excellent, lets hope they can bring the food up to the same standard.
Pagoda Cantonese Restaurant – WakefieldWe had our office xmas meal at the Cow Shed, although it was a little pricey the food, atmosphere and service was excellent. Its a shame there are only a handful of good restaurants in Wakefield.
Cow Shed Restaurant and Grill – Wakefield5 course meal, £44.99 (£34.99 for children). Drinks not included. Sittings at 12pm, 2pm, 4pm
