Third visit this year. It must be good or we wouldn't keep coming back!! The atmosphere is great, the service excellent,and the choice of food on both the menu and the "specials" boards is outstanding. A "must" for eating out in Wakefield.

Great meal helpful staff nice surroundings

The best pub food in yorkshire, you would travel miles for this place and so you should, its a good price, a warm environment and friendly staff. we try to go some where else but the amazing aura makes us come back constantly, its like sunday everyday when we walk in.

The best city restaurant grill in wakefield, though some way to go on the service to be challenging for been the best overall, the food menu is good, presented and tastes great, atmosphere is good but this place is another of those small restaurants aprox 40 covers which means the service should be easy and a lot better.

The service quality of food are outstanding. The home made Steak Pie is amazing together with the chunky home made chips make eating at the plough out of this world.

I thought the old hall was amazing. We were seated in a room upstairs which was beautiful we will definitely be going again

Possibly one of the few places where you get a group of people who have a great laugh, just watch out for that Kenny Cartwright and his sons, the heart of the anglers

A very nice pub with cheap beer and lager (samsmiths pub) and the food is very good

we went to the restaurant tonight and the atmosphere was excellent the host was charming and the food was like nothing I have tasted before. This place is definitely a food place - I had the seafood platter and the scallops were cooked to perfection. Definitely the best restaurant in Wakefield and is so close to Leeds. i will be back with friends. Thank you for a lovely time Valentinos! keep up the good work

Anyone who has enjoyed the cuisine at Dolce Vita in Wakefield will recognise instantly the superb Pate. My companions had a simple warm garlic bread and a more exotic pasta and - in deference to them we chose the Orvietto which was a superb drink. My very thick but beautifully cooked and presented fillet steak was so large as to leave very little room for any of the numerous fresh vegetable options on the side dish. A fine Canneloni was enjoyed by my wife whilst the two guests shared a large rack (crown) of lamb - delicious and superbly presented and enough for us to sample - indeed the main courses left no room for us to check out the sweet menu, but the coffee was excellent and rounded off an excellent evening. A second bottle of Orvietto took the final bill for the four of us to just over £90 - I hate the word average in the cost panel above for nothing about this evening was anywhere near average. A busy Saturday night in no way slowed the service and it goes down as one of our best outings in recent months - so much so that the in-laws are due next week from the States, and guess where we are taking them!

The staff and especially the food was of top quality. It is a carvery meal and you can put as much vegetables on as you wish. Everybody really enjoyed their meal and to finish off a fabulous day it only cost £3.50

visited several times. food excellent, service excellent, and you are not rushed out when you have finished. good choice of wines and beers. all round, highly recommended

Service was friendly and prompt. We arrived early and the place was very quiet and pleasant. The food we had was picked from an early bird menu and when it arrived it the portions were good sizes, freshly cooked, very hot and delicious. Would recommend and we shall be going again.

This 2 for 1 eatery is as you would expect. The food is edible and there is plenty of it. I would imagine this place is good if you are with people who aren't too fussy about the quality and go more for quantity. I suppose you get what you pay for so don't expect haute cuisine.

Very relaxing atmosphere with a roaring open fire at wintertime on the upper level. Plenty of choice on the menu , but be warned the mixed grill is only for those with very large appetites!i recommend the lasagne!

What can I say, it leaves all the other Indian restaurants in the dark. staff are superb, food is out of this world and with the new refurbishment would recommend to any one. I must like it ive been visiting this establishment for over 20 years. TOP CLASS KEEP IT UP BOYS

We booked for the restaurant at the Kings Arms, as we had family up from London and wanted to take them somewhere nice. After waiting for our table 40 minutes after we were supposed to sit down, we were finally shown our table. The man that waited on us was quite rude, and when we asked for another bread roll as they had not put enough out for each person to have one, he tutted and we were told we would have a 10 minute wait (for a bread roll!!) It wasn't busy as we were the only people in the restaurant at that time. The food when it finally arrived wasn't that bad, and the atmosphere was lovely and very inviting, just a shame about the service and the staff member that served us that night. The bar meals we saw them bringing out whilst we were waiting looked very nice. Would go again to try a bar meal, but not to the restaurant!!

the balti house is a second to none indian curry house go and look for zak and odd job mal go in ther for a good laugh and some good indian cusine
