We have been going to the Shama for a long long time now, even before it moved. It is always good. Now it is on the Main Road it is manic! ALWAYS book a table as turning up last minute you may be disappointed to be turned away. It is a Bring your own beer too which makes it cheaper. The food is excellent and service good. Slower service when its packed though. Definitely a Gem!

We have been visiting the Balti house for almost 3 years, very friendly staff, they are genuinely pleased to see you and the food is fantastic, you should really give this a try you will not be disappointed.

We visited the New Inn for my brother's birthday recently. The new decor is fantastic, chic but retaining that village pub feel that we wouldn't want it to loose. The new menu caters for a wide variety of tastes and the food was a very good standard. Our waitress, Margaret, was fantastic, patient, courteous and accommodating. The new owners are doing a brilliant job and we would highly recommend a visit.

This shop holds a Quality Award from the Federation of Fish Friers. You can be sure about the quality of the fish and chips in this shop.

I have visited Valentino's for many different occasions and they never fail to make you feel like you are special from the second you walk in the door where there is always a friendly face to be greeted by to the good night at the end of a wonderful experience. I have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries and just lovely evenings out, we have always had amazing service, nothing is any trouble for the staff and the food is always delicious from pleasing the eye to the flavour. It is definitely a place for everyone.

Just had a meal from tea time favourites and it was really nice and very quick delivery, I will be ordering from them again in the future

I have eaten here several times and have enjoyed the food and the friendly service; However, as a vegetarian of 25 years, I was absolutely gutted on my most recent visit to find prawns in the dish that I had ordered from the veggie menu. There was a slight apology and the dish was quickly replaced, however, I felt that the integrity of the place was compromised and I would never, ever eat here again. This lack of attention will apply to anyone with a food allergy or intolerance, it's a risk not worth taking!

I would highly recommend the Amala Thai Restaurant in Wakefield. Every dish was delicious making it difficult to pick a personal favourite. I tried the Prawn and Pork Parcels with dipping sauce as a starter which were spicy but not overpowering, followed by the scallops in a shell which were perfectly cooked preserving the lovely texture and delicate flavour. For the main course the Tilappia in Tamarind Sauce was also delicious, the fish was succulent and moist and the sauce was not overly sweet. I decided to try the dessert wine to finish the meal which smelt divine and tasted of apricot and peach. The restaurant is modern and chic and decorated simply but still encompasses the Thai style. The green and white colour scheme makes for a very relaxing environment. The service is excellent and the pleasant and personable restaurant owners are on hand to explain the contents of the various dishes and make recommendations.I hope to go back soon.

I pre-booked a table for four people Saturday evening for my wife and family. We arrived five minutes earlier than the agreed time, and after being assured by the member of staff (possibly the manager) that we would be sat down at our table "in a few minutes" we stood and waited in the middle of the restaurant surrounded by other diners sat eating their meals for another 20 minutes as we watched other parties get seated. We received NO subsequent assurances about getting our pre-arranged table and waited patiently. After 20 minutes of waiting and hearing nothing from the (and I quote from their website 'extremely friendly and attentive') staff apart from getting jostled from side to side as they brushed past us. After waiting patiently for so long with no update on our table despite getting pushed out of the way numerous times by their 'extremely friendly staff' I asked what had happened to our pre-booked table. After asking this we were directed into a room upstairs not to eat, but I presume to drink from their bar upstairs until our pre booked table became available. At no point were we even apologised to or even offered a free drink whilst we kept waiting watching everyone else eat. We got offered a token free garlic bread (that would usually come with the meal anyway) but after waiting even that did not turn up.We gave up waiting in the end and walked out, again no apologies were forthcoming. We found an alternate restaurant a few minutes away that knew how to treat valued customers and we spent the rest of the evening trying to forget the very poor treatment and disregard we experienced in Rusticos. This is a prime example of how a restaurant that becomes too popular forgets the no 1 consideration in the food industry - it's customers. I eat out very regularly and this is perhaps the worst we've ever been treated by a restaurant either in this country, or in other countries we've visited. For a restaurant that states on it's website "Our staff are extremely friendly and attentive and are always willing to attend to any requests you may have" this simply was not demonstrated and we were left feeling undervalued and ignored,. Christmas may be a busy season but if no tables were available they should not have wasted our time in agreeing a booking early that day. Rusticos needs to remember that although Christmas may be group party season now, come the cold winter January/February months after it's customers like us that support restaurants during their quiet months.Quite obviously *not recommended* of course.

Went to Malagor Fine Thai Cuisine after being recommended from the Holiday Inn where we were staying. Absolutely delighted we went. From the second we entered, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming - the receptionist who I later found out was the owner, organised a table for us despite them being so busy. The decoration is lovely and my wife and I felt really welcome throughout. We had a delicious lamb shank which slightly over faced me (so my wife helped me finish it), and the salmon in ginger. Both were delicious. We couldn't face dessert but the table next to us had mango cheesecake which they seemed to enjoy. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - not rushed like at so many restaurants. We will certainly return soon.

Reasonable price for a buffet (all you can eat). Quality of most was very acceptable. if you have an allergy please beware and advise the manager as soon as you walk in as they do not listen if you've started to eat the starter without looking at potential issues with the hotplate main course area (particularly if you have a shell fish allergy).Overall a 6/10

Overpriced average food and a disconcerting air of pretension - distinctly average in all but price and portion.

Booked a table last Thursday for Saturday night at 8.00 pm. Arrived early, which was a good thing as parking is very limited. They didn't have my reservation on the list, so was asked to wait at the bar. After about 15 minutes wait we got a table, and were told by the waiter he would fetch the specials board. 10 minutes later I reminded them, we were still waiting for it. Ordered & when the food arrived, it was hot, obviously freshly prepared, and generous portions. Were delighted to see one waiter, Gus, who had been at Bella Roma in Wakefield for many years. He remembered us, and his attention made what hadn't started out too good into a very pleasant night. A couple of little things like the offer of a drink on the house, and, unexpectedly, a plate of fresh fruit at the end of the meal was a nice touch. Think next time we go (and there will be a next time) we'll get a taxi, but overall, for a very busy place, well done Valentinos.
