Arrived about 5pm. Place was fairly busy for food and drinkers at the bar.. We found a table and looked at the menu, not a huge choice but enough I think for most needs. But the specials board more than made up for it. We went to bar to order and were greeted by the staff. I ordered the rump and the others ordered the homemade fish cakes and a curry. Food arrived in very good time and was outstanding, large portions and piping hot. Do not be fooled that it is only a pub doing pub food, because it really was exeptionally good. We have eaten in restaurants and not received anywhere near as good as this. So look this place up when travelling. 10 out of 10 folks at the Stanley Arms .

Possibly the most unfriendly pub, bed and breakfast or whatever it is I have ever seen. A very unpleasant dog in a side garden and very unhelpful unfriendly staff. On two other visits I have not been able to raise anyone at with the whole place locked up tight. If it is a bed and breakfast I would not stay or eat here if you paid me.

What a superbly unpretentious restaurant. Lunched there June 2013 and can honestly say - having lived and eaten(!) in France for 10 years - that it's probably the best seafood we've come across anywhere within 90 miles of Chester. No faffing with decor or posh service. This is just outstandingly fresh food. P.S. my usual day off is Monday (when The Lobster Pot is closed). I am seriously tempted to change my free day!!

27th June , my wife Ann's birthday.4 of us had lunch, we were only just in time. we all had the most glorious meal, with the drinks the bill came to £190, for this meal not expensive. I can't say any more, only just fantastic food and wonderful service. somewhere very special.

What ever Chef was on on Saturday, I wanted to go in and personally thank him for the best food I have ever had. If you know his name put it on the web site so I can re-book when he is there - fantastic

We had freshly caught sea bass at the Lobster Pot on 1st June 2011 and we can honestly say it was the best sea-food meal we can remember. The fish was so fresh it almost jumped off the plate; The vegetables perfect together with the starter, desert. and wine. The service was most professional, and the ambiance just right. There is a good sea view if you choose the right table. It was not cheap; £67 for 3 courses for 2 people including wine, but you get what you pay for! Altogether a very memorable place.

I come here quite a lot with friends/family- it is more for the location and nice sitting areas (there is a really nice conservatory area) than the food. The menu doesn't vary often (particularly if you are vegetarian) and the food is very average pub food. We rarely get any main courses as they are pricey for so-so food and just go for side dishes and starters. Its a real shame because if they focused on the food more the place could be really great. The service is always friendly and food is quick to the table -but the coffee just takes ages for the staff to prepare pretty much everytime we go. Saying all that though we keep going back as it is one of the nicest places near the beach. It's a nice friendly place to bring a family.

What a great find. We had a wonderful meal here on a busy Saturday evening. The restaurant is small and friendly with a great atmosphere. Although the restaurant was full the service was excellent. The food was glorious and the chef deserves a special mention. We all agreed that it was one of the best meals we have had in a long time and look forward to returning on our next visit to Anglesey in the summer when we will be able to take full advantage of the wonderful harbour views from this wonderful restaurant.
