We arrived on what was clearly a very difficult day for the staff. They were overbooked due to an issue with their system, plus some disruptive diners. Despite this, the service was excellent, they were still all warm and welcoming. The food was really good and good value. Highly recommended.

The Old Smithy – RugbyWe booked on the website for Monday 7th June for 4 people. The booking was accepted. I had a confirmation. I had a reminder on Sunday. I turned up on Monday and the Restaurant was closed. Clearly there is a fault in the booking system. I have spoke to Teo (Theo?) at the restaurant and advised him of the problem.

I understand the need to open windows and doors but excessive flies and ant swatting does spoil a meal. We did notice others swatting the flies away. Such a shame as the food and staff were perfect

The Old Smithy – RugbyI have been using this pub since the mid 1960s when it was known as the White Lion, privately owned by Michael and Erica ( forgotten their surname ) In those days it was purely, as many others were, simply a drinking pub. A restaurant was added in the 70s/80s we even had our wedding reception there. Today it is still a great venue, good food at affordable prices, and a huge choice. We felt very safe under the present circumstances, tables well spaced, excellent service, and polite staff.
