live bands every weekend, most preety good classic rock. dont do food mid week,shame, just weekend, best burgers around, actually homemade not just homemade in factory then frozn as some would have you belive. Beer garden is south liverpools hidden gem, still have a bowling green thats get used. all in all best local round here. only downside, bins on front need emptying a bit more regulary.

Best pizza in Liverpool by miles. Proper Italian pizzas, thin crisp crusts and perfect amount of cheese. The Calabria is my fav with the egg in the middle. Amazing! Do yourself a favour and try somthing from there.

Food and service outstanding, best italian in liverpool

I ate at selam cafe for the second time this evening and again, the food did not disapoint! We ordered an array of different meat and vegetarian dishes including Goden tibs (lamb ribs) a traditional dish of minced lamb offal and meat (Dulet) a spicy red lentil dish (misir wot) and a very tasy spinach dish (Gomen Wot). Most dishes come served with the traditional injera pancakes, which are crumpet like in texture, slightly sour and perfect accompanied with the delicious home cooked food on offer. Another must have is the previously mentioned honey wine, very sweet and utterly delicious, smell of pure liquid honey. The hot spiced tea is also lovely. I am saving the coffee ceremony for my next visit. The informal, no frills laid back atmosphere makes for a perfect easy destination for a delicious and good value meal.

My partner and I went to the restaurant when it first opened, food was simply outstanding, service was amazing, the atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely, food and wine were great value for money, top quality, have been back since and had just as nice an experience, one of the nicest Italians in Liverpool without doubt!! I would highly recommend you try it

Visited the cafe recently - really fantastic stuff. Been to a couple of Eritrean places in London and this is up there - really authentic food, good for veggies and reasonably priced. Merseyside Eroitrean's should get behind it, and locals (like me) too

Have visited Santino 3 times now and had wonderful food and evenings. Aldo and Luigi (the chef) give helpful advice on the food (if needed). my favourite has been the sea bass which was cooked in a sort of paper bag. it was the best fish i have ever tasted. the seafood risotto was excellent too. would recommend this restaurant to all lovers of italian food

Newly opened restaurant. Went in for lunch. I had octopus salad and my friend had a seafood pizza. Both were outstanding, the pizza was loaded with muscles, squid, octopus and prawns. Cheap at about seven pounds each. Highly recommended!

We visited Christakis,Smithdown Rd to celebrate my birthday at the beginning of October! there was 12 of us and we truly enjoyed ourselves lovely restaurant, beautiful food, and the service was exeptional and very friendly, we had young children with us who were also catered , i would highly recommend this resaurant, and will be booking again this Sunday for 13 of us ;-)

AMAZING restaurant, this is one of mine and my boyfriend's favourite restaurants, its just round the corner from where I live and we have never experienced anything short of excellent food and service from here. On our last visit, we got 2 poppadoms each, 2 starters to share with a naan bread, 2 main courses and a paratha and the bill only came to £33, that's less than £20 per person!! I ask for something that isn't on the menu but they always make it for me which I think is lovely. All in all a fantastic restaurant!! Will be going again very soon!!

Our meal took 1 hour and 30 minutes to arrive. The restaurant wouldn't even give us a free poppadom, despite being a party of 26. The food was OK, but a little bland. The "garlic bread" appeared to have no garlic and certainly we couldn't smell any. The waiter actually stood there arguing with us rather than replace it, The service overall was offhand and they seemed to have no interest at all in our satisfaction. Never going there again.

Staff are very helpful..they even filled my tea up with coffee..ha ha.it was soon replaced.very child friendly and when I lost my glasses and enquirer if they had found them at all they searched again.manager was amazing and so so kind to do that for me.thank you.ps food beautiful for brunch but need a snooze after it..if only I got the chance

Excellent. Very attentive but not overbearing staff, interesting and varied menu, pleasant décor and very good food. Will certainly be returning in the near future.

I recently visited this gem on Smithdown Road and was blown away, I had read some good reviews about the place, but upon arrival, the place was empty (which was such a shame). I chose off the Vegetarian / vegan menu, a selection of vegetarian dishes served on injera bread. The owner explained Eritrean cuisine and offered me a free sample of Honey Wine. The food was very clean and fresh and the owner explained the coffee ritual which I will certainly try next time I am there. Please promote this place and visit it.

Having been to their city restaurant for a number of years and enjoyed consistently good food it was with great satisfaction to visit the new Smithdown road restaurant which my wife and i together with guests have enjoyed since the opening. We go nearly every Sunday evening and are always greeted by either Christakis, his sons and/ or his very efficient and polite waiters such as Andreas. The food is excellent and the menu is extensive. Chris and his family have really created a lovely and freindly atmosphere within the restaurant and we look forward to many future meals there. Christakis Smithdown road is undoubtedly the best Greek restaurant in and around Liverpool. Ivor .

we recently enjoyed a family meal and could'nt have been treated better, we had a baby with us and they did everything in their power to make sure we enjoyed our visit. Plus it was very reasonable and good value for money. Loved it can't wait or my next visit.

The new Christakis is every bit as good as the town Centre one, but thank goodness much nearer ( Within walking distance). The portions are huge and the meat cooked to perfection, the house wine is delicious and very affordable. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and children are welcomed with open arms. This is a restaurant to celebrate all family events. Highly recommended
