Went here based on reviews, had been many years before but wasn't impressed then But thought why not try again as reviews seemed good. Decor much improved, lighting is terrible way to bright, feels like being in a operating theatre. heating was on way to high myself and another guest had to remove clothing. Met by a young man who was very friendly and professional great start the restaurant was empty at 6.30pm ! shown to our seats offered options which is always good placed our drinks order which arrived promptly, the specials menu for £14.95 was very limited in the choices.just basic chicken dishes and the usual pizza options. I had garlic mushrooms which were breaded !! never a good sign, they were very bland had no real taste tiny pot of bland mayonnaise ,very poor. my partner had the mushroom covered with goats cheese again lacking in any real taste plus greasy. I had beef stroganoff with rice large portion which was good better too much rather than not enough,my partner had a chilli chicken pasta dish but again the chicken tasted bland, we both thought it tasted frozen. Didn't bother with a desert for obvious reasons, what a let down considering the feed back i am at a loss as to why it there was such a difference for us. The soft seats were very very uncomfortable the seat bases have all collapsed due to usage i suspect, they are not matched to the table height subsequently you are almost reaching over your food, and i am 6ft 1 !! Overview: the chef needs to taste his food as he prepairs it sort the chairs out asap, turn the lights down to create a more relaxing environment and i think it would be a place i would like to go back to.

Love this place! Not what you would expect to find in Westhoughton. a really foodie place with a cool Northern Quarter vibe. Nice people that own and run it too!

My husband and I have dined at this location for many years and we have never had an issue booking a table. Now under the new name "The Fat Pig" I cannot get through to anyone to speak with. The telephone system prompts you towards the website to book. Unfortunately I left it too late to book for the following night due to the restaurant being new and clearly busy. He is my issue. I cant get to speak with anyone, I cant add myself to a list for cancellations. Nobody has responded to my e mail request. This has prompted me to look for reviews on the net and now I don't feel like I want to book based on some negative comments found. This could have been avoided if only somebody could have picked up the telephone....

I visited the fat pig on Friday 8th April (1st weekend after opening). I was following on Facebook and was excited after viewing the lovely menu. On arrival we joined the queue to be seated. The restaurant is lovely and the atmosphere was busy but buzzing and friendly. When we where seated at our table in the back room next to the serving hatch (I didn't mind this) we weren't asked if we would like drinks or given menus. We waited for half an hour (no one apart from busy waiting on staff collecting from the hatch even came into the room) after which time I decided to collar one of the waiters while he was retrieving from the hatch. The young lad was polite and helpful, took a drinks order and said he would get us some menus. Finally we were brought menus with a vague apology but no drinks arrived for another 20 mins (not a good start). We browsed the menu, made our choices and sipped our cocktails; which btw where lovely, but after another half an hour our order had not been taken. Again I collared another unsuspecting waiter who again was very helpful and polite and took another drinks order. Eventually somebody did come to take our order and our wait for starters was reasonable, however another 20 mins wait for our drinks meant I was pretty annoyed. I ordered the cheese fondue starter and my other half ordered the pigs cheek and black pudding balls. Both were tasty but very sparse for the price in my opinion. The cheese fondue is basically a baked miniature Camembert with wafer thin sliced bread (not enough) and side salad. For £7 I just expected more. My partners was lovely and tasty but again four small balls for £6 odd is a bit overpriced. At this point I was thinking "ok they are really busy and maybe we just chose the wrong starters" I was willing to forgive despite the unacceptable start. We both ordered the artisan pizzas. Mine was the lamb kebab style pizza and my partners the pulled pork. My pizza was very spicy (too much chilli oil imho), the lamb was very scarce, a bit dry and I could not really taste coriander or identify it in the pile of salad on top of the pizza (no doubt to hide the scarecity of lamb). My partner was more impressed but also felt the pizza was sparse. The wine (Australian Chardonnay) was lovely and helped me to get over the annoyances but when we waited another half an hour or maybe more for the bill after asking for it we gave up and went through to the bar and payed it there. Overall I do think we made some bad choices and maybe it's personal choice but I would suggest that the food is a little too pretentious to fulfill. The main thing was that the service we received was terrible. I felt we were shoved in a back room and ignored and I won't be returning... for a while anyway (hopefully my feedback may help them recognise where they are failing).

Visited last night for a family celebration after reading the reviews. Yes busy but couldn't understand why?? The atmosphere is more like a café than a restaurant. Service was disorganised and we had to continually wave for attention. The food we ordered was basic Italian fayre which you would expect to be delivered right given that pizza is the corner stone of Italian food. However totally under cooked which ended with a huge mush in the middle of the plate after trying to eat round the edge. Didn't like to complain as didn't want to make others feel uncomfortable, but was finding it difficult to enjoy. Two of the others ordered pasta dishes which weren't much different in size to a starter they had ordered earlier. One dish was a pasta marinara which was somewhat bereft of seafood. The house wine ok but distinctly average and the choice was limited, wines listed were basic and a little pricey. At no time at all did the staff come over to ask if everything was ok with our meal or take time to ask if we would like additional drinks therefore service not great. We were offered desert to compensate. Overall our personal experience does not recommend a return visit or a recommendation to friends.

Hello I have recently ordered a chicken kebab I thought the £5.99 was a little steep but felt assured it would be worth the money. When it arrived it was in a very hard small pitta bread and side salad , the chicken was a touch too spicy and around 7 pieces so for £5.99 I would have gone two doors up and got a curry for less which would have been more substantial and both tasty and worth the money . I won't be returning to italianos again !

We've been to Andiamos on a number of occasions now and never been dissapointed. When visiting restaurants I sometimes think, "I could cook this at home for a fraction of the price" but this is not the case at Andiamos, the food is top notch. Staff are friendly and they treat the customers with respect in that they don't rush you with courses to get you out of the door. I can highly reccommend the Tournedo rossini, at £24 its well worth the money. Monday to Friday they do a choice of set menus and so taking the family for a treat is not going to break the bank.If I had to find any critisism it would be that they need to change the chairs in the main part of the restaurant, they're just too straight backed for me and not very comfortable, I can only presume its a space saving thing. Apart from that I can't really fault it. I will be going there again!!

my husband and I fell upon this delightful place November 2011 and have never looked back. NYE2011 was an absolute delight and the food is amazing everytime we go.We have had many family gatherings here and nothing is ever too much trouble, recently I was diagnosed with coeliac disease and thought my days of eating out where over but Steve assured me that was not so !! Whenever I go there the staff let Steve know and he always comes to ask what I want to eat advising me on different things. this truely is a jewel in westhoughtons crown.
