Snug and Chatter – WetherbyService was brilliant and the staff really knew their stuff! Food was great also
Snug and Chatter – WetherbyExcellent visit. Efficient and friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and great food, will definitely visit again.
Snug and Chatter – WetherbyI booked a table at the Snug and Chatter as my husband and I were visiting his parents who live locally and this restaurant is dog friendly. I have a very fussy father in-law who was impressed by the restaurant: the food, atmosphere, the level of the music and the service. Nothing was too much trouble and I had a lovely evening and great food. Will definitely return again, this place is a little gem.
Snug and Chatter – WetherbyI had a delicious meal and glass of wine on Boxing Day. Everyone was in a lovely mood. People friendly, as usual. Staff excellent.
Snug and Chatter – WetherbyWe could not fault the food, but it was just the length of time between courses that was very slow and we were there for 2 1/2 hours. Although the staff were friendly and pleasant, it may have required a few extra staff to assist. We also had to ask for the bill and then eventually had to go to the bar as we had waited for a while.
Snug and Chatter – WetherbyHaving visited several times and had positive experiences and wanting to take the kids for a nice pre Christmas lunch, we visited yesterday only to leave very disappointed. We had booked a table for 4 for 1pm, we arrived a little earlier at 12.30 and were not greeted and found no reserved table so just grabbed the last available table. After about 20 minutes I grabbed a spare menu from another table as we hadn't been seen to then after about 30 minutes we were brought some more. We eventually ordered 4 main courses and after 10 minutes I was told the steak pie I ordered wasn't available so ordered a burger instead. After a really long wait, our food arrived and checking the time, my partner realised we'd been in there nearly 2 hours so had to rush to move the car. I waited 10 minutes or so after we'd finished eating for our table to be cleared and to ask for the bill but as no-one came, I walked to the bar to pay. Unfortunately on this occasion the food wasn't great and the service was very poor, which is a disappointment after our previous positive experiences.
Snug and Chatter – WetherbyA bit like other reviews they seem to have a problem with stock availability. I ordered a dish with Hallumi and was told it was out of stock. Morrisons is 500 yards away. I think they could do better. I was told they couldn’t source the product from Morrisons as they make vegan claims. All they have to do is tell people when they order. The staff seem inexperienced and I did notice that the prices in the last 3 months have increased significantly, nothing wrong with that as long as you are delivering for your customers and at the moment I’m not sure you are.
Snug and Chatter – WetherbyWe were pleasantly surprised to be able to book a table the day before, but in hindsight the reservation should never have been accepted as the restaurant seemed to be completely overwhelmed. We asked twice what the soup of the day was, each time being told it was pea and ham, and were therefore surprised when a bowl full of red liquid arrived. Apparently it had 'just changed' to red pepper and roast vegetable, but he hadn't been able to come across and tell us. The burger with blue cheese and skinny fries came with cheddar. The burger with cheddar and chunky fries came with skinny fries! The 'two breaded fishfinger' sandwich came with one great big lump of battered fish. Very nice, but not how it was described at all. Tables were being moved over our heads, staff were literally running around. We did ask had someone whether someone hadn't turned in for their shift, but were assured that they were at full capacity. The comedy value did add a certain 'je ne se quoi'! We had to ask for second drinks, and then ask for them again when they didn't materialise. We have no idea what the pudding menu's like as we weren't offered it, nor a coffee. We did challenge the bill as it contained the soup that had been sent back and the blue cheese that hadn't been put on and in fairness the lad who appeared to be in charge deducted both of those and our drinks. The food we had, which was right, was very good and perhaps on a less busy lunchtime this would be a great place to come to. It certainly provided a talking point!
Snug and Chatter – Wetherby6 of us visited for lunch, the food was really impressive and the service great. Table was slightly small but nothing to complain about. Will return.
Snug and Chatter – WetherbyAfter a lovely meal there a couple of weeks ago we took our son on Monday evening. So disappointing . I had raved about the pie of the day but they had none at 6 in the evening. Likewise no fish and chips. We ordered the Brie sharing starter which came cold and solid. Our mains came in various stages. We asked for condiments and the salt pot was delivered smeared in tomato sauce. It’s such a shame that this lively little bar restaurant is so inconsistent. On our previous visit Sam was the manager and he was brilliant, tentative and entertaining and made sure service was good. The staff are young and perhaps some are more experienced than others but no excuse for food not being available at 6 in the evening. Come on Snug and Chatter - you can do so much better! My ratings are best on this visit.
Snug and Chatter – WetherbyGreat place - food is amazing and such a great atmosphere. We came here for Sunday lunch with friends, the staff are so friendly and attentive. The best Sunday dinner we have eaten out in a long time.
Snug and Chatter – WetherbyHaving lived in Wetherby previously I knew The Snug and Chatter was a lovely place to meet and eat. The staff were extremely tentative, polite and deserve all the praise which comes their way. They were/are very professional and friendly. The food was first class as was the dining experience and the atmosphere. I would highly recommend The Snug & Chatter and when back in Wetherby we will dine there again. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.
Snug and Chatter – WetherbyI had a table booked for dinner at 7pm but I was very disappointed to be squeezed into a corner under a loud speaker surrounded but very loud people, and to be told they had run out of pizzas. It’s probably a great place for a drink but not a meal out with friends you want a conversation with .
Snug and Chatter – WetherbyAmazing food and very well priced ,has a lovely atmosphere .Sam is fantastic nothing is too much for him and he’s delightful at his job
Snug and Chatter – WetherbyBrilliant service and excellent food really enjoyed the meal, chicken linguine was delicious!!
Snug and Chatter – WetherbyDelightful staff Sam & Co .. Phone attitude excellent and service .. they do pay detention to detail
Snug and Chatter – WetherbyWe had Sunday lunch for 6 of us, 4 adults and 2 children at 12.15. The atmosphere was lovely, very warm. The layout of the table wasn’t ideal and even with 2 young children the table was too small - one person ended up sitting on the end right by the door so kept their coat on and one person had to balance their plate where the tables joined together with a very uneven surface. When we asked for help the staff just said none of the tables really seat 6 so we just had to manage. Staff were very nice and friendly but incredibly slow service, we had to ask and chase for everything as & when we managed to catch their attention. Food was average at best. The Sunday roast was pretty shocking! Beef delicious and rare but the vegetables were shrivelled & had clearly been sat for ages, the roast potatoes weren’t roast and the Yorkshire puddings were so burnt (they were black!) none of us could eat them. There’s no way they should have been served and in hindsight we should have sent them back. The children’s burger was a generous portion but again it was burnt so we ended up having to scrape & cut the burnt bits off. The children’s pizza was tiny compared to size of children’s burger but a good pizza. Unfortunately we didn’t stay for dessert because the food was so poor and service so slow. Based on the great reviews (which is why we booked) I wonder if we were just unlucky and the chef was off so they had a temp in and the staff were a team member down.
