Booked a table here for Sunday lunch due to the good reviews from other vegans. We were the only people in the restaurant. We ordered 3 of the vegan/veggie roasts and 1 meat to be told there was none of the 2 vegan/veggie options left. We were then also told that there was none of the only vegan dessert on the menu left. We ended up having to leave and find somewhere else for lunch. Very disappointed and quite embarrassed as we were taking my parents out for a treat. Unfortunately I can't comment on the food as there was none for us to eat!

Been here a couple of times, lovely food, lovely people, but nowhere near the standard of the Shahenshah nearby. On a different level for quality and depth of flavour.

This is not a Chinese. It is a fantastic steakhouse selling the best steak I have ever eaten. The restaurant is only just opened and has a warm feel to it. The owner Paul is friendly and the staff are attentive. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food on offer and I will be going back regularly if this standard is maintained. Must try the ribeye steak if you visit, you will understand why when your plate is empty.

After arriving at the restaurant we were quickly shown to our table where drinks were served. Our started was served very quickly, piping hot with wonderful presentation. The maincourse of which i had the 3 meat special was outstanding with table checks carried out at every course and they were genuine checks where the staff really cared. deserts were wonderful. I could not believe the value for money and will certainly be recommending to everyone i see. Well done to all at Sambuca well deserved report.

Been there with my friends while visiting Whitley Bay back in October, great service and pleasant choice of vegeterian food for myself. It was difficult to find their website through bing but it pops up at top of google, also they respond to email queries quickly.

Lottie McPhee's cakes are the best ever. They are delicious and keep really well if you can resist eating them for that long. Whenever I visit the North East I have to take loads home for family and friends.

Hidden away on the north east coast in the sleepy village of Seaton Sluice, near Whitley Bay is grand hidden treasure. This manifests itself as a hotel/restaurant. But don't mistake nor overlook this as "just another pub". Far from it. The restaurant has a grand view of the coastline and lighthouse but with a hidden surprise of it's own. Newly refurbished to a good standard inside and complimented with real staff who enjoy their jobs is a refreshing change. My party of two dined here on 10 June 2011 with 8.15pm reservation as meals are served up until 8.45. A good welcome and shown to our table which was reserved. From that moment on things went up hill. We passed on a starter but having a look at the others as they arrived, I knew this was going to be good. Presentation was faultless, care taken and looked so fresh. Our main meals were a medium cod ( it's the seaside ! ). This is available in four sizes - small, medium, large and something called "the whale !". If mine was the medium, pitty help the larger sizes. It was presented beautifully. I only wish I could have real chip shop style chips - and my wish was granted. Crispy tasty batter, white cod, perfectly cooked, chips done to a tee and mushy peas with flavour and colour. All piping hot. Not a single fault. The second main meal was the king prawn on a sizzler plate with potatoes and carrots in a sweet chilli sauce with a fresh mediterranean salad which looked like it was straight from Delia Smiths cookery booked and should have been framed for it's colour, smell and presentation was outstanding. This again had been lovingly created and finished off woth fresh herbs. Both of these dishes have been created and prepared by a chef who cares and should be proud of the food he has served. Finished of with two coffees and biscuits, and a well stocked up we couldn't manage a desert. We also had two drinks with the meal and for a grand total of £32.20. This is by far value for money when you consider the outstanding quality, good service and portion size. Thanks to everyone in the hotel, you should be proud. To anyone passing, slam on the brakes, park your car and enjoy the best food the north east coastline has seen for quite a while. Don't miss this opportunity !

Thanks to all at Dominique's. We had a family party (16 of us) there tonight and everyone enjoyed it tremendously. The service, as always, was excellent and the food delicious. I definitely recommend this restaurant for the friendly service, the fantastic food and the superb location with views from the all-round first-floor windows. If I might make just one suggestion: bearing in mind the very generous portions, an option of a half pizza or pasta + a small side salad would be a much-appreciated addition to the menu. PS: My daughter and her friends also highly recommend Dominique's tapas bar downstairs for an excellent £10 lunch including wine. Thanks again Joan Gibson

The food is rather expensive for a pub - but delicious and well above the standard offered by most pubs. The staff are lovely and the venue is very pleasant. I wasn't aware when we went that we could have taken advantage of Sugarvine's 2 for 1 offer. Will make enquiries before our next visit!

The single best Indian restaurant I've been to (and I've frequented a few including the outstanding Gaylord in London's West End). The food is always beautifully cooked, the lamb as tender as I've ever had it and the very attentive staff full of great recommendations for new dishes to try, once they've ascertained your likes. All in all fantastic, if I had to have a criticism it would be that despite booking I usually have to wait for my table on arrival, just for 15 minutes or so and the bar area is too small to comfortably allow this, however well worth the wait.
