We have been going to Grapes for Sunday lunch for about 2 years, fantastic food (you wont find a better Sunday lunch anywhere). Great service and friendly atmosphere. Nothing is a bother to Mark or Sharon, even our wild child 3 year old!! Its also open late through the week with loads of choice of lovely homemade food thats great value for money. Its the only place our daughter eats a full meal!!

i must share the pleasant experience that my family and i enjoyed recently after having our sunday lunch at grapes.we came upon this small but friendly establishment by chance and the food and service were excellent.we noticed other diners had brought their own wine as only soft drinks were sold but that seemed no problem we will be booking this sunday and may do the same

My husband and I eat out a lot but never have we came across a restaurant like the Kisii. We have been going there since it opened and never had a bad meal. Good fresh ingredient's cooked to a high standard with different receipts. So different from all other restaurants and with the personal touch from a family which cares and always puts its customers first is very special.

i have been using this restaurant for over 6 years now and the food has always been of an excellent standard. the waiters mr.007 and naim are brilliant waiters as there entertain us, everytime we come round for a meal, try them out the restaurant is second to nothing.

Very rich good food cooked by a Kenyan-asian family with a lot of african influence. Feels like home. Tell them to go easy on the oil....

What a beautiful change it is to have a fabulously presented meal in a fabulous restaurant with such outstanding friendly but not overpowering service. I would highly recommend indulging in the Chengs experience!

I have visited Kissii around six times in two years and I'm always very impressed. I eat out at Indian restaurants about once every two/three weeks and Kissii being African/Indian is completely different. It's a genuine family business. The owner takes everyone's order himself and is clearly proud of his restaurant. Everything is cooked to order so waiting between courses is inevitable but worth it. Everyone I've ever taken to this place has then took other friends the next week. I asked the owner why he doesn't advertise or have a website and he said he prefers personal recommendation. Anyone thinking of going remember it's on the sea side of Whitley Bay metro Station and part of it, opposite old phone box. they keep the door closed so it's even hard to find! My favourites are: casava wedges to start, Minced lamb with chicken rice (I'm greedy)accompanied by Bakturah (probably not the right spelling but it's different from chapatis or naans and very nice

After frequenting The Romna for over 10 years and many change of ownerships i definitely would put my thumbs up to it being more outstanding than ever at the moment. The decor has been updated with new furniture and most important a fab new 5 star menu. I have never been disappointed here with dishes that make your mouth water. Every Sunday there is a special set menu at give away prices. A round of applause to Dillon and his brothers for delivering what I would say is curry lovers heaven! Ooops nearly forgot Dillons dad who sweats in the kitchen cooking them.. Keep up the good work and enjoy. Judith..
