Ujala Indian Tandoori Takeaway – Whitley BayLottie McPhee's cakes are the best ever. They are delicious and keep really well if you can resist eating them for that long. Whenever I visit the North East I have to take loads home for family and friends.
Lottie McPhees Cupcakes – Whitley BayI am Greek myself and I always thought the best Greek cuisine is only in my country. How wrong I was - the Greek food served by It's All Greek To Me is delicious and cooked traditional way.Simply the best Greek Restaurant in Newcastle (and probably best Greek Restaurant out of Greece). You MUST try it!
Its All Greek 2 Me – Whitley BayAb Fab.....food was delicious and aplenty, wine was flowing as was the raki. Service was attentive but not pestering. Will def be returning with or without vouchers
Its All Greek 2 Me – Whitley BayHidden away on the north east coast in the sleepy village of Seaton Sluice, near Whitley Bay is grand hidden treasure. This manifests itself as a hotel/restaurant. But don't mistake nor overlook this as "just another pub". Far from it. The restaurant has a grand view of the coastline and lighthouse but with a hidden surprise of it's own. Newly refurbished to a good standard inside and complimented with real staff who enjoy their jobs is a refreshing change. My party of two dined here on 10 June 2011 with 8.15pm reservation as meals are served up until 8.45. A good welcome and shown to our table which was reserved. From that moment on things went up hill. We passed on a starter but having a look at the others as they arrived, I knew this was going to be good. Presentation was faultless, care taken and looked so fresh. Our main meals were a medium cod ( it's the seaside ! ). This is available in four sizes - small, medium, large and something called "the whale !". If mine was the medium, pitty help the larger sizes. It was presented beautifully. I only wish I could have real chip shop style chips - and my wish was granted. Crispy tasty batter, white cod, perfectly cooked, chips done to a tee and mushy peas with flavour and colour. All piping hot. Not a single fault. The second main meal was the king prawn on a sizzler plate with potatoes and carrots in a sweet chilli sauce with a fresh mediterranean salad which looked like it was straight from Delia Smiths cookery booked and should have been framed for it's colour, smell and presentation was outstanding. This again had been lovingly created and finished off woth fresh herbs. Both of these dishes have been created and prepared by a chef who cares and should be proud of the food he has served. Finished of with two coffees and biscuits, and a well stocked up we couldn't manage a desert. We also had two drinks with the meal and for a grand total of £32.20. This is by far value for money when you consider the outstanding quality, good service and portion size. Thanks to everyone in the hotel, you should be proud. To anyone passing, slam on the brakes, park your car and enjoy the best food the north east coastline has seen for quite a while. Don't miss this opportunity !
The Waterford Arms – Whitley BayThe Kismet Whitley Bay Fantastic will recommend to all my friends. Fantastic food and great service.
Kismet – Whitley BayThanks to all at Dominique's. We had a family party (16 of us) there tonight and everyone enjoyed it tremendously. The service, as always, was excellent and the food delicious. I definitely recommend this restaurant for the friendly service, the fantastic food and the superb location with views from the all-round first-floor windows. If I might make just one suggestion: bearing in mind the very generous portions, an option of a half pizza or pasta + a small side salad would be a much-appreciated addition to the menu. PS: My daughter and her friends also highly recommend Dominique's tapas bar downstairs for an excellent £10 lunch including wine. Thanks again Joan Gibson
Sambuca – Whitley BayThe food is rather expensive for a pub - but delicious and well above the standard offered by most pubs. The staff are lovely and the venue is very pleasant. I wasn't aware when we went that we could have taken advantage of Sugarvine's 2 for 1 offer. Will make enquiries before our next visit!
Briar Dene The – Whitley BayExcellent, always fantastic quality, never had a bad meal from here.
Seashells – Whitley BayThe single best Indian restaurant I've been to (and I've frequented a few including the outstanding Gaylord in London's West End). The food is always beautifully cooked, the lamb as tender as I've ever had it and the very attentive staff full of great recommendations for new dishes to try, once they've ascertained your likes. All in all fantastic, if I had to have a criticism it would be that despite booking I usually have to wait for my table on arrival, just for 15 minutes or so and the bar area is too small to comfortably allow this, however well worth the wait.
