Overall, disappointed. We left, feeling hungry and on leaving went straight to the chip shop below, which filled the yawning chasm in our stomachs having dined at this locally well regarded venue. The staff were polite, not particularly stealth but on the whole, ok. There were two of us, we ordered the dim sum sharer as a starter between two of us, and had the steak sizzler each for main, with rice and a soft drink each. 35 quid was the total bill, which should have been more had they bought the prawn crackers we asked for, but they forgot to bring. What can I say, the dim sum starter at 8.50 I think was simply not enough. I'm a fan of fine dining, but a local Chinese above a chippy, fine dining this venue is not, but that's ok because we weren't expecting that, just a good, hearty and filling meal. It was good and tasty, but just not enough for two people, at that price. Equally, the mains, which we both had a steak sizzler consisted of 5-7 slender strips of beef (not steak) with onion in Cantonese sauce. 3-4 table spoons worth - tasty but not filling, at all. At a tenner a pop each, just not at all enough food. Tasty, but I needed double. We had rice too - we asked for rice each but were 'told' one bowl would be enough, but if we wanted more during the meal, we could ask for it?!! WTF?!??!!! After eating, we sat there patiently for 15 minutes whilst the waitress passed out table half a dozen times before she took the plates away. Asked for the bill, paid and ran down stairs to the chippy because we were starving. What food there was, was satisfactory and hygienic. The staff were amiable, and not rude hence the two stars, but that's it. I won't be going here again. Ever.

we always head to the royal forester when we want something a little bit special. the food is superb and the atmosphere is a genuinely friendly one. the interior has recently been refurbished to a really good standard and completely does the food justice. 5*

This is probably the best Indian restaurant we have eaten at. Food is very good quality and tasty unlike the other curry houses in bewdley. Inside is very chic and sexy good for couples and parties

Always a nice meal here, with genuinely courteous staff. The decor and food are a 'cut above' many other high street types. Pays to go a little earlier to avoid the crowds.

This place has a huge menu selection and whilst this is nice, it may detract them from producing top grade food all of the time. I live just down the road from this place and frequently go on a Friday night for fish and chips and a couple of pints. Arrive before the rush at 6pm say, and you'll be seated fed and watered in no time at all. The staff are well trained and Chrissy (owner) and Jane (daughter) have always looked after us very well indeed. I don't smoke, but for those that do...they have an outside covered area with overhead heaters. The decor is cosy with many lit candles...ideal for a romantic steak and chips meal! The garden in the Summer is perfect also with access into the pub front and back. I gather that there has been a drinking house on this site for a couple of hundred years.

Running Horse – Bewdley
