I often eat at buffet island (about once a month) with my girlfriend and it never fails to please! Of all the buffets in the area, e.g. star city's flame and modern china, buffet island is the best. All the food is delicious with a fantastic range for all appetites. The staff are welcoming and the service is good without it being pushy. The price is a bargain bearing in mind what you can have - sushi, ready made chow mein, pancakes and thirty other dishes. I love this place and would recommend it strongly.

Well, what can we say, this place is fantastic the menu is huge you expect a small choice when you eat at a buffet restaurant but there must be a dozen or more dishes for starters and same for mains and even desserts, but it was gorgeous too!!! Absolutely wonderful evening and the staff were very nice too! Cant wait to visit again. WELL DONE BUFFET ISLAND!!!

this restaurant is the best restaurant i have been to. every dish varies in taste and texture and every dish is delicious. i recommend you all to go to buffet island!

I have been a regular at Buffet Island and I agree with everyone else. Tried others in the area and there is no competition. The food is great the staff is great and they are also having entertainment on new years eve what else but a karaoke. What a great idea. Have a meal, a drink and celebrate the new year in a great atmosphere. If you go past you will see the posters on the restaurant.... I think it is a must to go. I am definitely going to be there. Been to all the 'buffet' style places in the B'ham area and this one beats them into submission every time. Not the cheapest but comes highly recommended. Been over a dozen times since it opened and pleased to see it has been refurbished. Car parking can be a slight pain at busiest of times. 9.5 out of 10

I went there with 4 other members of my family last Saturday night. This is the second time I have been and once again the food was fantastic. The staff were very apologetic at making us wait for our table, despite the fact that we had arrived early! I love the fact that you can try all of the different dishes and what you don't like - you don't have to eat as they clear away any used plates from your table very promptly. I am looking forward to my next visit - its just a shame that I live 180 miles away otherwise I would be there on a more regular basis.

Excellent food, each time i go out for a meal 95% of the time we end up their. Going again this week.

Best Chinese Food in Birmingham for a low price. I cant wait 2 go back there again. Need I say more

We have driven past many times but called in for the first time yesterday. We had to wait a little while to be seated but we had not booked so I suppose you would expect that on a busy Sunday afternoon. The food and service were excellent and although the price was a little more than I would like the quality made it good value. There are not many places where I would look forward to going back but this is one of them.

Nothing in China is as good as this place. Need I say more. Expensive but the best

I was very wary of receiving an invitation to a meal at this place. I'm not a fan of 'Buffet' type venues as in my experience they are piled high with poor quality food. My visit was on a Saturday night and the place was absolutely rammed. We had to park our cars on the pavements as you could not get into the carparks. The service, quality of food and variety of choice was way above my expectations. A staggering choice of mains, fresh fish/salad and desserts including the famous chocolate fountain. Despite how busy it was, the staff were all friendly and helpful and I can see why Buffet Island has such an excellent reputation. I will definitely be back!

Went with a group of ex work colleagues on Friday 10 November. Well worth the 2 hour drive there and back from Stoke on Trent.
Food was excellent with a wide range available (even Jim didn't manage to sample it all!!).
Deserts were superb with again a very wide choice.
Many thanks to MC for the invite and the booking. Will certainly try again when hungry!

We have been to a few buffets and without doubt this is by far the best. The choice of food was excellent,we were very surprised to have found a large choice of desserts and the chocolate fountain is brilliant! and this wont be the last time we visit hats off to the people that run the place. thankyou it made our 2nd Anniversary very special. Highly recommended. Don't take my word for it, excellent quality food, superb choice. very popular. people waiting at the door for opening, and that is at 6pm on a Monday night.

Took my 2 boys and baby daughter with me on the afternoon and it was fantastic, have been back 4 times since and my sons want their birthdays celebrated there with a few friends from school...they are aged 6 and 9!! so go...its gr8

I have been going to buffet island in Erdington for months now with both family and friends. Its a gr8 place. I had a birthday party there and it was gr8 fun. Thank you to all the management and staff

Brilliant place, excellent owners. I've been there a few times with my family and with the owners son (i am a teenager). Im very good friends with both of the sons (sonny and ying) and am well known to the owners of this restaurant (lee huang and sue huang) so if anyone wants dibs on food there ask me :).

This is a great place to take your family out for a meal. I have been several times now and the staff are very helpful and make you feel at home. When you come in and when you leave they take the time to welcome you. Food is great and the variety especially the deserts (which I Love) is brilliant for the price. I would recommend this Restaurant to anyone...

I enjoyed myself at this place, I recommended it to all the FUNJI lovers out there. I thought he was the best waiter there and it was kind of him to let me take wipes home with me and my mate was even allowed to take a glass home! we were so happy, we are treasuring the stuff ... Thank you! x x x

I really enjoyed my night a buffet island. The food is amazing and there is so much choice. It can get crowded at times in the buffet area. The drinks are quite expensive, and when asking for a jug of water to accompany our drinks they only would serve bottled water at a quite expensive price. This however is the catch to such a wonderful price for an incredible amount of food. I suggest you go hungry and get your money's worth! Fri- Saturday nights are £12.90 pp the rest of the week is £10.90 pp. Lunchtimes are very reasonable !

After hearing so many fantastic reviews regarding this restaurant, I just had to go and sample it for myself. I have never before been to such an impressive Chinese eatery. The food range was outstanding together with the quality and presentation. The service was excellent, and the mood perfect. I will be embarking on my second visit this week and I am certain it won't be my last.

I went there with my wife there to celebrate our anniversary; we had a very warm welcome and had a very good meal. The food was excellent and the service was very good, the staff very friendly. I was very happy with my meal there and will definitely go again with friends.

It is a very good place to have a party. We had a party last week and enjoyed it very much. There are many types of food provided for you to choose from. The plate and glasses are clean, the server is so nice, she always smiles when she serves us, even when we broke a glass and she didn't get angry and quickly cleaned them. We like the place very much and will go to eat again.

I went with my boyfriend went to there celebrate my birthday. We thought it was a very good restaurant. We didn't book and then when we went there server was very friendly welcome us and quickly lead us to the table even is was Saturday during the peak time. We like the food there very much because they have many different kinds of food and the taste so good. The ambience was comfortable everyone was enjoying the meal, chatting and laughing. I was so surprised that when they knew the day is my birthday they gave us a birthday extra dessert for free. I felt so sweet and lucky .I will always remember this moment in my life. I went to buffet island for a friends meal and i thought the food was fantastic! i have never enjoyed a chinese as much as i did at buffet island.

We have visited as a family with two children one aged 2yrs and one aged 7yrs both of which love going to eat here. It makes a great change to eat out as a family where you feel relaxed, calm and all very well fed.
We recommend it to all our family and friends, and strangers alike.

BUFFET ISLAND HAD BEEN RECOMMENDED TO ME SO I THOUGHT I WOULD TRY IT OUT FOR MYSELF. I WENT TO THE LUNCHTIME BUFFET AND FOUND THE FOOD CHOICE TO BE VARIED AND EXCELLENT (PARTICULARLY AS I DO NOT EAT MEAT!) THE SETTING IS MODERN AND LIGHT. THE RESTAURANT IS VERY CLEAN AND THE AMBIENCE IS VERY RELAXED. I FOUND THE STAFF TO BE VERY PLEASANT AND HELPFUL. AFTER THE MEAL I WAS THEN ABLE TO RELAX IN THE BAR AREA AND HAVE A DRINK. I ENJOYED MYSELF SO MUCH (AS DID THE COMPANY) I WAS WITH THAT WE INTEND TO VISIT AGAIN VERY SOON BUT IN THE EVENING THIS TIME. I CAN WELL RECOMMEND THE LUNCHTIME BUFFET BUT YOU HAD BETTER BE HUNGRY!
