Went to the Carib Grill last Friday with my wife Christine. Well so glad we did, the food, the drinks, the atmosphere were all great. Missed Clyde but his lovely lady Christine and the staff really looked after us. Will be going back very soon with some freinds. All I can say is you must find time and go.

The food and hospitality at Carib Grill is excellent. I've been to Jamaica and loved the food, Carib Grill took me straight back to my fondest memories. The food was traditional but cooked with an attention to detail that made it the tastiest I have ever had and I've visited many Caribean restaurants in Birmingham. My friend and I had the combo to start and savoured every mouthful, we followed this with Curried Goat, Dumplings and Plantain following which there was no room for desert. Staff are welcoming and happy to chat and share their knowledge of the Caribean and it's cuisine. Lovely restaurant, staff and food, I couldn't help bring the takeaway menu home and I've already asked another friend if we can go next time we are out for a meal. I am one very happy customer.

We booked Carib Grill through Groupon and I have to say out of the four places we've been to this was by far the tastiest food. Not only was the service excellent, the food was delicious and I would highly recommend this restaurant. We'll definitely be returning. We share the combo to start and had the goats curry and medley for main, followed by the rum sponge pudding with ice cream. I couldn't fault a thing. Excellent value for money even without the Groupon voucher.

Decided to have a meal in Moseley following an evening at the MAC Comedy club on Friday. Booked for 9.15 but arrived early. Asked to wait a few mninutes for our table to be cleared. Seated within 5 minutes and ordered, rum punch and sexy juice, orange juice and toinc water ( my turn to drive!). We ordered main courses of curry goat, mategee and a three dish medley, everything was perfect. A fusion of the caribbean islands, great flavours, just the right amount of spice and no skimping on portion size. Great night, excellent service and genuine value for money.

Very poor food, inattentive service to the point of rudeness and also quite expensive. Avoid like the plague

After reading such (suspiciously) positive reviews about this restaurant, we were eager to try it for ourselves. However, the whole experience was horrendous and failed to live up to these expectations. The service was exceptionally slow and disorganised. Food constantly arrived at wrong tables, drinks orders took forever and the kitchen was empty of staff for around 20mins while we were waiting for our food. The main ‘specials’ were cold, gloopy and lacked flavour. A dismal and insulting attempt to capture the flavours of the Caribbean. When we tried to feedback our concerns, the manager was unhelpful and rude and suggested we were lying – while brandishing a steak knife! It’s bad enough having to pay for horrible food, but when the owner makes his customers feel threatened and intimidated, that’s akin to daylight robbery. Do not go here.

Nipped over to Moseley from Dorridge to try the Carib Grill (Feb 2012). Well, it was was well worth the trip because the food was very tasty, hot and plentiful. The service was prompt, attentive, very friendly and welcoming.
It was a treat to try a different cuisine (for us anyway) in an independent establishment with such a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
Looking forward to a return visit.
PS try the rum punch.

Went to Carib grill with a friend. We wanting something different to the usual Indian and Chinese, and we’re glad we did. The staff were all really friendly especially Clyde and his son.
We started off with a lovely Rum punch and Guinness punch followed by a tasty meal. We were given a fresh coconut and I got to sample coconut milk for the first time, nice and refreshing. I've never been to a restaurant like this before. They made us feel so welcome so the experience was much more than the food. I’ll definitely be going back.

I arranged a surprise anniversary meal for my other half and I'm glad I did, having never eaten here before. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food delicious. The only things that let it down were the speed of service of food which took an age to come to the table, but overall a good experience.
Carib Grill Is Terrible
Worst place I have EVER been to for food in my life with no exaggeration. The place allows you to pre order food giving the indication that upon arrival your food will be ready or near completion. I visited this joke of a place on Saturday 29th October for a family meal that was booked for 8pm and two hours later and they hadn't even bothered to bring out the starters for anyone, and to make matters worse we had children under 10 in our group booking and the management didn't even have the courtesy to inform us to any delays or even offer anything complimentary for our more than unnecessary wait. The wait time was out of this world, and the extortionate price for drinks was just as bad. £2.50 for ONE can of soda and £20 for a rum punch pitcher. I think the drink prices were being made up every time we asked for something in all honesty. The staff did not follow the pre order requests that they had at least a week in advance and hours later when they decided to do something and bring out food surprise surprise it was all wrong. The place needs trading standards and needs to be shut down as soon as possible as it is a disgrace to everything it allegedly stands for. I couldnt believe what was going on. Three hours and they didnt even bring out the starters, I cant imagine what time they intended on bringing out the main. We left and would never even think of going back and will be advising people not to even drive past this waste of a building. Disgraceful behaviour to say the least. SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN
