Overall, disappointed. We left, feeling hungry and on leaving went straight to the chip shop below, which filled the yawning chasm in our stomachs having dined at this locally well regarded venue. The staff were polite, not particularly stealth but on the whole, ok. There were two of us, we ordered the dim sum sharer as a starter between two of us, and had the steak sizzler each for main, with rice and a soft drink each. 35 quid was the total bill, which should have been more had they bought the prawn crackers we asked for, but they forgot to bring. What can I say, the dim sum starter at 8.50 I think was simply not enough. I'm a fan of fine dining, but a local Chinese above a chippy, fine dining this venue is not, but that's ok because we weren't expecting that, just a good, hearty and filling meal. It was good and tasty, but just not enough for two people, at that price. Equally, the mains, which we both had a steak sizzler consisted of 5-7 slender strips of beef (not steak) with onion in Cantonese sauce. 3-4 table spoons worth - tasty but not filling, at all. At a tenner a pop each, just not at all enough food. Tasty, but I needed double. We had rice too - we asked for rice each but were 'told' one bowl would be enough, but if we wanted more during the meal, we could ask for it?!! WTF?!??!!! After eating, we sat there patiently for 15 minutes whilst the waitress passed out table half a dozen times before she took the plates away. Asked for the bill, paid and ran down stairs to the chippy because we were starving. What food there was, was satisfactory and hygienic. The staff were amiable, and not rude hence the two stars, but that's it. I won't be going here again. Ever.
