Located in the village of Saltford in between Bath and Bristol, Bistro 507 finds itself firmly on the foodie map for local diners. The intimate and friendly Bistro has had a makeover and the contemporary décor with wooden floors, designer table settings and bold wall coverings exudes charm. Hosts James and Tom offer great service and affordable modern British cuisine created using seasonal and local produce. They cater for all dietary requirements including Coeliacs and the Coeliac Society regularly dine here. Open for lunches and fine dining in the evenings with a strong Sunday lunch offering, there are outside tables for the warmer months in a private and buzzy space. Front-of-house James is expert at getting an atmosphere going and has a sense of fun, staging regular 'Murder Mystery' nights and live music nights with one of the west's leading entertainers Mike Purnell. Let’s not forget the food though. Chef Tom has forged relationships with some great suppliers -- organic meat from the farm down the road, fresh crab and fish from Dorset and locally grown fruit and vegetables. Expect attention to detail and great presentation on designer crockery, slate and modern cutlery. Try the starter of Beef Carpaccio with balsamic glazed beetroot and a horseradish cream and the main of slow roasted pork belly with an apple cream and black pudding. Desserts are all homemade and include the popular lemon brulee -- a 'tangy' twist on a classic pud -- a chocolate and Brandy ‘pot’ and ice creams flavoured after your favourite sweets such as After Eight and Crème Egg. The cheese board however is a tad more serious with award-winning local cheeses from The Fine Cheese Company in Bath. Open for lunch Tuesday - Saturday 12-2pm, Sunday 12-3pm and evening dinner Tuesday-Saturday 6.30-10pm.
