I felt that I had to write and make a comment after three recent visits to this great little find in Penarth.
A number of people had recommended the Olive Tree but I never managed to make the journey from Cardiff Bay but I am really pleased that I did. Some of the friends that I introduced to the restaurant have already booked to return. I hope it doesn't get too popular that I am unable to get a table !!!....GREAT FOOD at a GOOD PRICE !!!.

How can no one have written about the olive tree before!? It's situated in Glebe street. ok so it? not the most posh part of Penarth, but WOW...it was the best eating experience I've had in South Wales for over ten years! It? a modern restaurant with an eclectic menu. I had the scallops with fondant potatoes, chili oil and rocket whilst my partner had the smoked haddock and prawn gratin!! Things went from good to superb, the rack of new season Welsh lamb was perfectly cooked as was the sea food melange, comprising of scallops, salmon, lemon sole and much more, the sauce with garlic and basil was to die for...
The deserts were even better than they sounded as was the service. Since eating there I've found out that this place is the only one in the Michelin guide in Penarth. No wonder you have to book well in advance! Give the early evening menu a go its amazing value for money
