We popped in for a quick lunch before walking along the wonderful marine walk around Fishguard. We didn't want anything heavy, just a toasted sandwich or a salad. However, the options were minimal. On the up side, the bar staff are very friendly and great at talking about what's available in the area. Having seen other customers with main meals at lunch, it looks like the standard pub food done well.

If you love food as it was in the seventies (how it REALLY was, totally bland and nondescript) and hanker after a similar attitude to customer service, you'll love this place. I didn't like it at all. We visited on a not-too-busy but not-too-quiet weekday evening, and everything we ordered was just about edible but absolutely tasteless, with pretty indifferent service as the icing on the cake.
I came to the conclusion that Fishguard is one of those places that people pass through, and only the desperate or not particularly well-off hang around. Sorry about that, Fishguard, but I call it as I see it.
