The service, menu choice, courses and wine list were outstanding at The Walnut Club. Highly recommended!

Dined at the sister restaurant in Sheffield, Ecclesall Road and after speaking with the manager after a beautiful meal, he suggested i try Hathersage.
Booked in on a Saturday night, Fully booked and loved every minute off it. The food was spot on and the service second to none!
Treat yourself and get booked in while you can! The Duck is to die for!

Second visit now, was at first disappointed that the menu had changed the format but thought the new menu and pricing is very customer friendly.
Atmosphere same as before, very friendly and professional for a young looking team.
The food looked spot on, each plate looked fresh and the taste was fantastic. The Duck Textures was one of the best starters i have tasted.
Would recommend to anyone and everyone, The Walnut Club has to be worth a visit no matter who you are....

What a surprise and a treat!
Had a little bird tell me off this place and i wasn't disappointed.
Sunday lunch, traditional and well presented. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed with a lovely background music.
I could not find a fault!
Will be back and would recommend to anyone

We've eaten here a few times now and although the food is generally quite good, the service and atmosphere can only be described as atrocious. On our most recent visit, we had booked a 3 course sunday lunch which the website told us was accompanied by piano music. Instead were treated to a performance on the stage of about 10 to 15 rowdy children running up and down, shouting and climbing on furniture. In the absence of any music, the noise drowned our conversation.
The service throughout was polite but minimal to the extreme. We had finished our wine during the 40 minute wait between the starter and main course and had given up trying to alert the absent staff to order more drinks.
The dessert arrived, complete with a 6 inch long black hair baked into my pastry. There was none of the usual 'is everything ok with your meals' so I went up to the bar to raise my complaints to the man who seemed to be in charge. He offered to refund the price of my dessert- how generous!
The main door was propped open during our dessert, seemingly to hurry us up. After waiting for some time to have the bill taken from the table, I gave up waiting and went to the bar to pay. We were then left waiting around in the freezing restaurant for a further 5 minutes wondering where our coats were so I took it upon myself to go and look for our coats myself, which I soon found in a room at the back.
We visit many restaurants on a regular basis and I can honestly say I have never experienced service and atmosphere as bad as this place. I was embarrassed to have taken our friends there that afternoon. I was so annoyed with our experience, I wrote to the manager but received no reply. That just about sums this place up.

This site should have a rating for "Value for Money" as the walnut club would rate as outstanding. The menu caters for all, the service is friendly, relaxed but swift. Its a very enjoyable dining experience. I've booked for new year simply because you know what your going to get. I was suprised at how inexpensive the new year is costing. For the two of us it was £198. We've all had the new years that looked to offer alot but fall far short. I am more than sure the walnut club will deliver on my expectations. I've dined there many times and it just gets better.

Dined here on a number of times over the last 6 months and the experience just seems to be getting better and better. My last visit was superb, great service, wonderful food and a lovely atmosphere with a delightful singer in the back ground.
What more can you ask for? Can't wait for the new site to open?

If your looking for a more civilised and upmarket Sunday lunch then I would recommend the walnut club in Hathersage. They offer a fabulous and organic roast dinner accompanied by a great choice of wines and a live pianist to make the atmosphere even more relaxing and enjoyable. Service was a little erratic but judging by the amount of customers I wonder if anyone could have managed as well, the team of young staff kept a smile on their faces and were polite and pleasant even under the pressure. Overall an enjoyable Sunday lunch with a nice twist.

Came over as per request from a family friend who dined earlier this month, Thought the menu was first class with almost everything to please any diner. The Atmosphere was very relaxed with an air of professionalism, which included the wonderful sound of the live jazz playing, made it a special night for me and my guests.
would recommend to anyone wanting a special but different night, The Crispy Pork is a must for anyone plus make sure you save room for sweets, the chocolate taster is still evident around my mouth!!!

Ate here on a tuesday night recently, and was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. Very extensive menu, 5-10-5 menu was available when we ate for a very reasonable price. The service was very professional but given in a relaxed manner, even got a lift home, when the taxi let us down! Jazz was enjoyable; decor and atmosphere led to a very cosmopolitan dining experience. Would highly recommend.
