on a recent visit . i ordered slow roasted belly pork, it was supposed to have been roasted for 4 hours, but in my opinion the only oven it had seen was the inside of a microwave. when i complained to the lady at front of house, i was told "that's how the chef likes it"
and my comments totally dismissed
and as for my wife's meal of lamb shank, it bore a strong resemblance to icelands lamb shank ready meal 2 for £5.50, with a touch more red wine to the sauce, which can also be cooked in a mircowave or boil in a bag for 8mins
so if thats how the cheif likes it , minium effort +minium cost to him= maxium profit,
to end it maybe a coincidence, but a felt rather un well the following day

Have eaten at Bamboo many times over the last 10 years, always good service and great food. Lovely intimate and friendly atmosphere

I'm afraid I did not enjoy my experience at the Bamboo on Friday 26th Sept 2009. The room was nicely laid out and the menu looked very appetising. I ordered spicy crabcakes with ginger and lemongrass followed by "Jungle Curry" of lamb shank. The crabcakes were tough brown eggshaped balls which had been deep fried for too long. There was barely enough sticky filling to eat. The garnish was a few un-dressed salad leaves. My lamb shank had probably been of good quality but it had obviously been pre-cooked too long before service and was tough with hard edges. The service was off-hand and they didn't ask if we'd enjoyed our meal. If they had I would have given them these comments/ It's a pity because the restaurant used to be very good.

Fantastic food and ambience. Just a shame spoiled, somewhat by the lack of customer service. Two waitresses, neither particularly attentive, one, in fact, rude, miserable and needs immediate customer care training.
Sadly, regardless of the quality of food, would make you recommend to others not to bother!

Have eaten a few times here and started my New Year's celebrations with a 4-course meal at Bamboo. Food, service, and ambience are always exceptional. Would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.
Discerning Diner
Absolutely terrible. Vegetarian pancake was inedible. I really am not that fussy but this was over-saturated in the parmesan sauce and was like a piece of hard pitta bread masquarading as a pancake.
Complaints were dealt with very unprofessionally and seemed to be taken as personal slights by immature staff.
I eat out regularly and have eaten there before but certainly will not eat here again.

Been twice so far and on both occasions the food was delicious. Really nice atmosphere and great service. Just about to book again.

Have eaten at The Bamboo several times and always had an excellent meal. The Monday evening offer is superb and everything is presented beautifully. The only gripe I have is the lack of space between tables (it is virtually non existent). So if you don? mind being seated very close to other diners then you will certainly enjoy The Bamboo!
Bamboo
Really nice place to eat, relaxed atmosphere with excellent service. Early doors price is definitely worth it at £10.95. Would recommend.

This restaurant is just wonderful, they have an offer on a Monday night and the food is great especially the lamb. Will be visiting again as soon as possible
